Just a thought...a radio station in Melbourne is offering a service where people can phone in and ask for info on someone.

I know Mick's basic location but not much else. If anyone want to pm me with his details I am more than happy to place the call and update everyone.

It's just horrific, on such a massive scale it is unimaginable.

Thoughts to Mick and to everyone in Victoria and who is affected directly or indirectly by the fires.

It is simply heartbreaking.

Just to add to this thread for people that may be concerened for Mick.

From what i can gather, Mick is near where my wifes sister farm is.
( Bunyip State forest ) area. Possibly he would have been told to evacuate, and joined most families in this area who were leaving in convoys and heading for the larger town of Warrigal for safety. Some folk have been allowed back to there homes/farms/properties.( as was my inlaws, yesterday..pending on area ). Most have been warned by CFA..that it would be best if one person in the family stays awake at night to watch for embers.
These areas are in bushy scrub and small to med communities ( Farms and Farmlets ) and smaller townships, some being isolated.
The majority are on tank water.( rain water )....and upon being allowed to return to there homes ( if they still exist? ).....most folk would be checking there water tanks....which now would be filled with black ash soot, so no clean water.
Water supplies would be trucked in by water tanks to replenish homes, as there has been no rain fall to fill there tanks. What water that may be left in their Water supply tanks would now be useless.
Many power supplies ( electricty lines )could be burnt out as the fires passed through.( so little or no communication )........Most farmers and towns people of these communities will be out looking for their Cattle/Cows/Horses,ect..and repairing what damage may have been done.
Fallen burnt out trees across there properties ( still smoldering )
Big massive clean up, for these folk, and still on alert watching for floating embers.

Cheers. Tony

Thankfully seem to be back on line now, hope the connection stays. I have been worrying about Mick and also my late friend Liz's family. Her brother, and his wife who came over to Norfolk and cared for her sister in law so wonderfully through her battle with cancer, and his kids live in Geelong, near your folks Vicky.

Liz's Dad must be so worried - he can't lose his son as well as his daughter.

Hope everyone is safe and these fires can be contained soon. Such a tragic loss of life and what a terrifying way to go especially those families with children, trapped in their cars as they tried to escape. May they all rest in peace and may their loved ones left behind get the support they need to cope with such tragedy.

So many of us are now very worried about Mick. It is early morning now for him. If he was still at home he would have been n touch by now. As said on another thread, he has probably been evacuated. Power lines will be down and as Teresa said it may be days before he is able to get in touch with us.

At the moment, all we can do is Hope and Pray that he is safe and sound. I dont know Mick too well, but getting rather worried about him over the last 24 hours. Does he have a family? Does anyone have his address or telephone number?

My heart goes out to all these folks that have lost loved ones and all their possesions. (Sp)

Please get in touch Mick as soon as you can. xx
