Oh Sylvia, your weather sounds very much like ours has been lately. Gone are the seasons as we remember them.
Overnight Katie hit the south east, very frightening. Our next door neighbours fence has been blown backwards, and is resting against a tree from the house at the back of us, anymore wind tonight and it will end up taking off, and lord knows where it will end up.
Over night we have been told to expect heavy rainfall, oh for goodness sake what else can the weather throw at us apart from snow, and that's the last thing we need.

I hope everyone is staying safe and well. Hugs to one and all, Mo xxx

Happy Easter ...............

it was pouring rain overnight, showers early this morning, cloudy ........... but now at about 1 pm the sun is out with high white clouds.

Not sure how long this will last as I think more rain is forecast for this evening.

Hello my lovelies, I hope you are all enjoying the Easter break.
We can't say much for the weather, coz it's absolutely abysmal , like everyone here in the U.K, we have had a mixture of heavy rain, gale force winds, and in between lovely sunshine, but oh it's so chilly outside.

No visits from any of the family over the weekend, so far. It's just as well we didn't buy Easter eggs this year, but chose to buy the biggest bars of Ca*bury's chocolate we could find, oh well here come the extra inches on the hips. LOL

Oh Sallie it's so lovely to hear that you are staying with us, we would miss you lovey.

Today I am feeling really fed up, but that's probably due to the weather.
See you tomorrow girls, hugs Mo xxx

Earlier it was very bright sunshine, later on it turned to hail stones, thunder and lightening, now its sunshine although the clouds look ominous, people in the park were all running when it was sleet, some of them had no coats and shorts. the old saying is true"never cast a clout till may goes out" it was quite cold last night , the cars had a bloom on them this morning...strange weather....

I do know about houses in Gloucester where Cannabis was found growing but know nothing about the laws re buying selling houses that have been used for drug growing.

Sallie and Jean thank you for your Easter cards.
Sallie, so pleased you decided to stay. You are an important part of our little 'gang'. Exciting to have a wedding to plan for. Have you got your outfit?

Jean hope you are ok and not getting these horrid winds.

Sylvia you have rain, we have horrible storm weather, 70 mph gusts and lashing rain.
our TV aerial is hanging by its cable. Well was, now tethered (hopefully securely) to the window latches of this room (my office). Aerial man can't come until Tuesday now!!! And freezing in here as have to have the small top window open. And really frightening listening to the strength of the wind, the worst we in this area have had for a long time.

Huia, hope your teetha re back with you now Lol!!! And that you have got the transfer of the house done into your name.

Mo, I only sent a few cards this Easter. I hope you and Rory are able to enjoy Easter. We had a nice day yesterday at the spring festival, wouldn't think today and yesterday were in the same week, the weather was gorgeous, why couldn't it have lasted over Easter, all the poor children on their Easter break.

Sallie Report 25 Mar 2016 23:48

Hello to all my lovely friends, well after reading all your messages of love and support, I decided to stay, as I would miss you all, you have all been there for me, helping me to get through all the mental health problems that I have suffered with for years, and still do.Thank you all for being there for me.
At the moment most days are difficult and it is a struggle to get through them, but somehow I do.

As Richard and Christie are getting married on the 24th of April, both Alun and myself seem to spend a lot of time on the phone talking to different members of our families that have been invited to the wedding. So we have all booked into the same hotel in Hailsham, where the wedding is.

Mo,sorry to hear about all the trouble you have had with the the leak in the kitchen. Thank goodness it wasn't as bad as you first thought it was and that it is all okay now. I would hate to be without our dishwasher, as one job I hate doing is washing the dishes.

Ann, thank you for your lovely Easter card. I didn't have much in my stash that was suitable to make Easter cards and couldn't find anything in the Range and Hobbycraft either, so had to buy them instead. I wasn't very happy about that, but at least you all had a card.

Jean, thank you for your Easter greetings message, hope that you have received my card.
Hope that you are feeling better and that J and D are both okay.

Sylvia, hope that you and your OH are both okay.

Well I am going to make myself a hot drink now before I go to bed.
Will chat to you all again soon. Take care.

.
Love, hugs and best wishes to you all. Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

LOL Sylvia, I am naive, having led such a sheltered life, and thank god, my family are the same.
Many thanks for the explanation though Sylvia.

Years ago, my eldest daughter was going round with a group of friends, who even though they looked rough were great. One youngster in particular, unknown to us was a glue sniffer, and when our daughter invited them in for coffee, this particular lad, decided he would do it in my kitchen.
When I walked in to the kitchen, all hell was let loose, and the lad was thrown out.
The rest of the group were full of apologies, and said that they had tried to stop him, that was the one and only time any of them were welcome in our home.
That is as close as we came to any misuse of any substance.
Our daughter was gobbed smacked because she had never witnessed it before then either.

Don't forget girls, our clocks go forward one hour this weekend.

Sallie, many thanks for the Easter card,I have been very remiss this year, and not sent any.

Well from a wet Kent I will say cheerio for now, I hope everyone has a pleasant Easter weekend, and I shall return tomorrow to see how we all are.

By law here in BC, the fact that a house is or has been contaminated by a meth lab or by marijuana grow op has to be disclosed by the seller to the realtor, and then to the potential buyer. I think the same or similar law exists in each of the other Canadian provinces.

If that does not happen, then the buyer has redress from the realtor and the seller (if that person can be found).

However, in most cases the houses do not have to be destroyed ........ they can be rehabilitated. But that has to be disclosed to the buyer.

It's a good job ............. because meth labs and marijuana grow ops have been found in apartments, not just houses or barns.

If the NZ law applied here, whole blocks of apartments would have to be demolished!!

I bet that apartments / flats will also be contaminated in England, and may well be found in NZ

Mo ...... I think you are naive about it!!

All those illegal drugs, eg ecstacy, crack cocaine, etc, that being taken by so many at parties, raves and so on, are made somewhere .......... and a lot of the supply is made in the community where they are sold.

We're fine ........... back in the rains again. The grass is growing, but so is the moss and the green lichens etc. The spring is about 3-4 weeks ahead of itself.

Mo in Kent Report 23 Mar 2016 18:50

Goodness me Huia, I don't think that ruling applies here, re the house being contaminated and having to be destroyed.
I suppose because we never come into contact with drugs, or dealers we really have no idea what really happens to the building afterwards.
We do see on the T.V programme's where the police raid homes that are growing drugs etc, but they never tell us what happens afterwards.

Have you any idea on this subject Ann ? It would seem that Roly and myself lead very sheltered lives to be honest, probably the same as T and yourself Ann.

I wonder if Sallie did her renewal as we have not heard from her since her last post.

Hi to Sylvia,Marie and our own special friend Jean.
Cheers me dears, hugs Mo xxx

Huia

Huia Report 22 Mar 2016 21:03

P is a drug, Methamphetamine I think. If it is manufactured in a house the house becomes contaminated.

While the house was in our joint names, apparently I cant sell without removing Phil's name from the ownership papers. Such a hastle - and cost ($504).

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Mar 2016 20:31

Huia I was going to ask the same as Mo re the contamination. What is P? And our house too is in joint names.

Mo no sun here today and definitely winter coat weather.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 22 Mar 2016 19:11

Hello there Huia. For some reason I thought your home automatically came to you, following your loss of Phil.
Our house is in joint names, so that god forbid if anything should to either of us, it goes to the surviving partner.
Also we have joint bank accounts, for the same reason.
It would be so hard for you leaving your present home, you have so many memories there.
What does it mean by a house being contaminated by P, and unfit for human habitation. Excuse me for appearing to be thick, but obviously housing regulations over there seem to be different to ours over here.
Take care with those scissors, don't go trying to trim your nails at the same time as the price tickets lol

We have had a lovely day here today, the sun has been shining, and it was quite warm for a change.
There were a few people out and about with just cardigans on, whereas we were still in our winter coats, not quite warm enough for summer I don't think.

Bye for now girls, take care, Mo

Huia

Huia Report 22 Mar 2016 06:42

I went to the dentist and she took impressions of top and bottom jaws, but only getting 1 tooth put on the top plate. I now have a gappy grin while she has the plate until Saturday.

I went afterwards to the shop and spent 2 & a half hours trimming price tickets. I seem to be the one who does the best job. One staff member told me I would go well in France (using the guillotine!).

On Thursday (day after tomorrow) I have to go through to Manukau to sign papers to make me the sole owner of this property so I can sell it, but I am now getting nervous about buying somewhere else as I had just read of one couple who had bought a place and just moved in when they were told it was contaminated by P and wasnt fit to be cleaned, so would have to be destroyed! I think I am staying put.

Good to see you Huia, I do see some of your photos on facebook and they are interesting. Isn't it strange how things can disappear just like that? Almost a year ago a bunch of keys disappeared in this house and have never been seen since. :-D
