Phew it is hot.
OH left the window wide open in the lounge and a bat flew in. I left him to it, so he had to undo both patio doors and it eventually flew out. In the meantime every bug known to man came in. He needed the light on to see when the bat was out. I hope the alarm doesn't go off now

I dont use a camera any more, just my iphone. It takes really good photos, better than the last camera we had.
my son is very keen on photography, he has a fancy thing with big lenses, he has even been taking lessons.

it is very hot here today. I went to get my hair cut, then did a spot of shopping. There were lots of sales on, but it was too hot to bother

OH has put the slide and climbing frame away, so the garden is back to normal now. I have decluttered the house and removed the sticky hand prints. I do miss her though

I think ALL children are good at getting us to pay for things!!!

We've had some very hot weather ............. which has meant that I have been retreating to the north facing living room for much of the day, and have not been on the computer for very long, hence my absence.

I got my new "free" camera today ............. I traded in loyalty points for a Canon PowerShot Elph 190IS. It really was totally free ....... the points covered the cost of the camera, tax and postage

Now I have to work out how to use it. I already have an older PowerShot A720IS, and there are a lot of similarities in the operating, but enough different that I will need to download the operating manual from the internet!

I wanted a smaller camera that would fit easily in my pocket or a small handbag ... and this is certainly small!

You are a page 3 girl again Sue :-D

Eve is now with her aunt for a week, I am really missing her, the house is so quiet. I am de cluttering and cleaning, there are hand prints everywhere. It is only a week until we go to Centre Parcs when we will be together again

I must admit tat I was looking forward to a layin this morning, but that was spoilt. The smoke alarm went off for no reason at 4. 50, then at 5.10 am. Then just after 6 OH heard then bin men in the next street and realised he hadn't put the bin out. It was the garden rubbish one which was full, so he rushed out and managed to catch them. With all that going on, I am now really tired and can't wait for bedtime, pity it is only mid afternoon :-(

Linda - our children are good at letting us pick up the tab on things like shoes etc. :-D

Hope you're not too exhausted - it's hard work keeping a princess happy.

Our daughter is unwell again and so we haven't had to pick the children up from the bus stop. It's amazing the difference that makes to our day.

Our weather has been glorious and Spring is in the air...for now. I'm sure we'll have another cold spell before the warm weather arrives. I'm thinking of Tec as I walk around the garden.

Having a lazy afternoon. We took Eve to get some new school shoes this morning and bought her some new trainers as well. Funny how is always seems to fall to us to do that. Mummy always offers to pay us back, but we say it doesn't matter. I suspect she has cottoned on to that :-D

We were going out this afternoon to somewhere she has been before and liked but she didn't want to go out,so she has the paddling pool and pink tent in the garden. She spends hours inside the tent drawing. She can hear the announcer at the racecourse, so she has just done a very good picture of horses and jockeys

I am just about holding out with all the playing, we are out and about doing different things every day, it was swimming again today. Only another week to go before I can pass her over to her aunt for a week.
We get that week off before we meet up again at Centre Parcs. After that I intend to sleep for weeks

Thank you for the message Linda. So our friend is now at rest <3

Spring is on its way here and my garden is waking up. I was thinking about how I would send photos to Tec and how much he would enjoy seeing the various plants in my Aussie garden.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Aug 2016 09:47

I got this from Tecs daughter, so thought I would share it

I thought you would like to know how things went on Friday, The weather was bright and fine, there were more people than expected at the church. With many people from both Sides of the family and a good turn out from the village too. The service went well and was I think, very fitting. We had 'Eternal Father' and 'Love Divine, all loves excelling' as hymns during the service, and because it was Wales the singing was very loud and strong. Dad would have approved.

We went to a local hotel afterwards, over looking the Mawddach estuary. It was a long day but it went very well.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Aug 2016 07:55

We got home with no bother. It has been non stop play since then

We took her swimming yesterday afternoon as it was a bit chilly to be outside. Not that she is bothered, she just wants to be in the garden. The swing is in favour this year. She swings away singing to herself..Granddad has had to add extra ropes to tie it down as she is swinging so high.

Yesterday she woke up and 6.10 am, which was a bit gruelling, but today it was 7.29 which was much better.

The twins birthday arrangements sound good Sue. Eve came back from Barcelona with some sparkling lip gloss which she insisted I try. She put it on me, all over the place of course, luckily it comes off quickly unlike the glitter transfers on arm

I hope you get a holiday sorted Sylvia, just book it and tell him he has to come

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Aug 2016 00:35

Hi everyone

gosh, Sue, those twins have grown fast!! It doesn't seem that long ago when they were just starting school :-D

Linda ........... hope you had a safe and good trip back home with Eve

I thought about Tec several times on Friday ......... and yes, he would have understood, everything!

We're having strange weather .... the weathermen are saying it is "normal" after last year's "abnormal" one.

We keep having Lows staying overhead for days, so we alternate cool damp with warm sunny.

I'm trying to organise a trip in September/October as we haven't been away yet .......... but OH keeps sabotaging me with "well, I HAVE to be around for xxxxxx".

Plus, I've been looking at a trip into the US by train, and am finding the website difficult.

Colour me frustrated!!

Thank you Jem.

Are you exhausted yet Linda? :-D

The twins had a wonderful Saturday. Joel took two friends to a go carting place with cake afterwards and while my daughter took Aimee and two of her friends to have a pedicure and their nails painted. More cake when we arrived in the afternoon :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2016 16:18

I saw it was the twins birthday Sue, they look so grown up

We went to an interactive water play park today. It was very good, like a large paddling pool with loads of water spouts etc. She had a whale of a time. They also had a large sand pit and a very good play area. Not to mention the cafe of course. It was really hot so I am glad to be back for as much rest as she will let me have

While we were out, I was thinking about the funeral, it is very sad..There are lots of people sending donations, so I will send it all to his daughter as soon as they all arrive

Hi Everyone :-) :-) <3

Like you all I am thinking about Tec, and feeling rather sad today.
We can take comfort that he is now out of pain.

How I used to enjoy his stories and very interesting posts. He had such a gentle and clever wit. How he made me laugh on many occasions.
I remember a time when Tec, Shaun and myself were flitting back and fore from the Welsh Thread to the Aussie thread to see who could bribe us to stay with the most delicious cyber food offering! :-D :-D :-D

I only "knew" Tec for a short time, compared to most of you, but I will certainly miss him.

RIP TEC, Our Friend <3

Thinking of his Aussie Thread Friends today <3

Tec would definitely understand, Linda.

Looking after the grandchildren is fun but exhausting...you'll need a holiday to get over it :-)

Aimee and Joel are 10 today...I can't believe it :-0

It is a pity Sylvia, but he would have understood

This afternoon we walked to the local museum a which was having a children's art session. She enjoyed that as it also involved using iPads and she is totally up to speed with them. When we came out, she was hungry,so we went to a cafe and had posh cakes, then to the playground for an hour.

It is only day one and I am shattered, I only have another two weeks to do :-(

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Aug 2016 19:24

Glad to hear that she bounced back so quickly.

It is a pity that you will have to miss Tec's funeral :-(

I wish I could be there for him

The train was three quarters of an hour late because a train in front had broken down and we had to wait while it was moved. Just what you want on a long journey.

Poor Eve looked white, she went to sleep at 6 pm, somI hope she feels better in the morning. A cuddly day watching movies sounds as if if could be coming up. On the other had knowing children, she will probably be full of life at some early hour tomorrow
