Aww Mummo, that's really really good news, and just what we all needed to hear. Well done Eddie, and I'm sure he won't mind you being kept away because of the snow. Keep yourself safe, you'll need to be when he comes home.

That is brilliant news, but be careful yourself. I am sure he would rather just have phone calls fora couple of days while the worst weather is here.

Well this weather has certainly given me a headache today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Couldn't get up the hospital this afternoon and what did l miss..............Eddie standing up and taking 1 step, he had to wear his body and neck brace but he did it, l was so proud of him but so sorry l missed it.
The snow is really heavy here and is causing chaos on the roads l did manage to get to the hospital for a quick 5 minute visit and to drop some things off but the journey home was awful, thankfully l got home safe and sound but did skid a few times.
Just want to say once again WELL DONE ED, love you, xxxxxx

Good to see that Eddie is still getting along nicely, what a lovely gesture to leave money for parking. I didn't realise that you had to pay for parking at the hospital.

Take care.

How lovely of 'George' to give you something to help with parking Mummo.I think it is disgraceful that relatives of long term stay patients have to pay out like this. That is so much money a week. Many folk would just not be able to do oi would they.
I think we will all be here on tenderhooks for the he is up on his feet again.!!!!!

Blue Moon

Blue Moon Report 3 Jan 2010 09:59

I think i would blubber too,it will be one hell of a weight off both your shoulders when Eddies back on his feet.
What a nice man leaving you some parking money its the little things in life that sometimes mean the most,
our local hospital charges £3 per visit for parking but you can buy a weekly ticket for £10 , we didn't know this the other year when I was in,I thought it would have been a good idea if the wards had a "welcome note" with thing like visiting times ,parking charges,if flowers are allowed and so on.....
anyway roll on the great uprising of Eddie.

loads of love to you all.x

So glad to hear that Eddie is doing well Mummo. It will be a slow journey, but worth the wait in the end.
When they let my hubby out of bed for the first time, they put him in a wheel chair.Talk about Stirling Moss up and down the ward ,with a catheter bag hanging off the side of the chair.
Best wishes to you both

Yes l did ask about the parking as when he was in Intesive Care l used to get a pass so l only had to pay £1.20 a day but when he left there and went to a ward l was told they do not issue any . It does work out expensive l'm paying between £30 and £40 per week, but there is nothing l can do about it except moan, lol.

Can I second what Linda in Herriot Country says about parking fees? If you haven't already done so, enquire about a weekly pass as well.

Glad your OH is making progress. I'm sure many lurkers (like me) send their silent good wishes and check for the updates.
