*** Mummo *** Report 30 Dec 2009 20:31

Hi Ann, thanks for asking.
Eddie is on week 5 now so 1 more week and hopefully we will be seeing some changes...........they should be putting his brace on and standing him up then and then they should be able to tell us more, poor Ed can't wait, he is so bored but l did tell him not to worry l will save all the ironing for him, lol.
My mum is still in quite a bit of pain but she has eased off the tablets as they are making her sleepy and she does like to be awake during the day, she did tell me the cancer nurse is due to visit in the next couple of days so hopefully something can be sorted.
I am still keeping positive thoughts and prayers for Eddie and my mum.
Thanks once again for all your support that l have been given on this thread, and can l wish you all a very happy and healthy new year, xx

I am glad to catch up with the news and see that in the main, things are going well. I hope the better company in the new ward will help Eddie pass the time more happily and help him forget the pain a bit, if he can have a laugh.

I had that happen to me with the carpet, mine had been stored for months, and was due to be laid the day before my son was due to be born. When the men turned up it was completely the wrong colour carpet so they had to reorder for the next day. I got some lads I knew to come in and make sure all the floorboards were ok as I had been modernising the house all through my pregnancy and they managed to knock a nail through a water pipe so water was dripping down the side of the boiler all over my newly decorated kitchen! That was fun, not, having to get it all fixed before the carpet company returned the next day with the correct colour carpet.
Son arrived the day after he was due which was just as well lol

Sorry your Christmas wasn't good but hope the one you have when Eddie gets out of hospital will be very special. I hope your Mum's meds will be adjusted so she feels ok.

Do take care of yourself - don't want you coming down with anything while you are under such stress.

Dear Mummo, so sorry I did not know about Ed's accident, although you did mention he was in hospital via a PM I did not ask why and should have.

Sometimes I miss threads due to them not being on the first or second page, when the threads are busy. Then again I do miss loads being in different time zone.

So, Ed get better soon and get home to Mummo, best wishes.

Nice for Eddie to be in a more cheerful ward, it will be better if he is with others who can keep his spirits up. I can imagine you had a not very nice Christmas but 'onwards and upwards' now we hope.

I am sorry your Mum is not too good, I hope they can get her medication sorted as it sounds as if the tablets are a bit strong if she is sleeping all the time, as long as they control the pain though.

Thinking of you all

Won't even tell you what a awful Christmas l had !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to visit Ed today and while he was eating his tea they decided to move him to another room as they had a emergency in so in the middle of pudding off he went. The ward he is in now is going to be a lot better for him as they made him feel really welcomed and they were were all talking and laughing ( better than the old men sleeping all the time, lol).
Eddie is still doing well, it will be 5 weeks on Wednesday so another week or so and hopefully they will start putting the brace on him and getting him up ...........watch this space for further updates, lol.
When l got home from the hospital tonight l had a phone call from my Brother to say my Mum can't walk today, he doesn't know if its the new tablets she on to relieve the pain from the cancer but she just wants to sleep all the time, so l spoke to her and she was feeling bad as she had stayed in her nightie and dressing gown all day but l told her not to worry, we all have days like that, lets just hope she doesn't suffer to much.
I am staying positive , l will have my Christmas when Eddie gets out of hospital and my mum will be there,
I am glad that most of you have a good Xmas and l really hope you all have the very best New Year, xxxx
