Hello everyone. Back from Sunny Cyprus and not enjoying this cold wet weather. I am struggling with a chest infection and feeling pretty miserable :-(

I hope all is well with you, Take care x

Hello.....hello...ello.....llo......o......

This thread is so empty it echoes! Where are the morning crew??

Been to earn a crust and returned. Despite waking OH before departing, he only managed to rouse himself 2 hours later. Men!
It's rather cool outside, feeling more like March/April than May/June. There's a nip in the breeze :-0

Just throw in everything stir in the strongest curry paste not powder. Add every spice you have in the cupboard and there you go. Just leave the bedroom and bathroom door wide open for a quick exit ;-)

Evening all. The hottest curry for me please. I used to make my own ,so hot they almost took the bottom out of the pan :-D

When you have something a tad on the hot side mix some yoghurt into it - really works and tones it down.

Milk is supposed to help cool the mouth. If OH is allowed to have a curry hotter than a korma at home, we divide the mixture in to 2 - my half has creamed coconut added to t which is another way of calming the 'heat' down. Mind you, taken to extremes, coconut milk is supposed to aide the stimulate the bowels as it were ;-)

'Enjoy' using your new machine Maz when it arrives. In the meantime, A could be encourged to takes his to do at work; you might be able to slip a couple of loads through at yours especially if you have a night shift before then. :-D :-D

YG Report 20 May 2013 17:11

Enjoy your new washer, Maz. Mine is brilliant, although it does take longer than the old machine, but has very flexible programmes.

I don't like chillies either DET, or any spices, come to think of it!! I wouldn't eat curry if my life depended on it and I can't stand chilli con carne. I need a fire engine with a long hose to keep my mouth cool! :-D :-D :-D

Morning all ....

Chillies? Can't stand them, not even a hint! It swamps out the flavour of what ever they are added to. Its got to a point where we have to stand and read the ingredients in cook-in-sauces before we put them in the shopping trolley. Most of the Lloyd Grossman sauces are rejected. :-|

Thanks for the Ramada suggestion Errol - had a quick look last night but the nearest one is at a service station miles from public transport. OH wanted somewhere we could park the car and use the bus. A couple of the Colleges do have rooms, but again it's the parking problem as they don't have any. The prices seem to be a £90+ pn where ever located. May be we'll have to fiddle with dates and see if that makes a difference. I don't mind Travel Lodges, but OH is put off by them as he tends to get the side of the bed where a mattress spring digs in to his back.
We probably need to decide if we are going to have a full week away this year, or couple of 'weekends' and apply the budget accordingly.
Maz - you went there in the last couple of years - where did you stay?

It's a mucky morning at the moment, that light drizzle which soaks you in time. Hope it dries up later!

It is a very large do with all sorts of stalls where you can try every Chilli or Chilli recipe you want to. Last year he got addicted to Chilli Ice cream. YUK :-P :-P :-P :-P. I personally hate chillis

ErrolSheep

ErrolSheep Report 19 May 2013 21:37

We're not talking privet are we?

Ms Gooner I love chillis - what is the chilli fest?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 19 May 2013 21:34

That would not work with my son the Butcher, he loves chillis the hotter the better. He is off to the local chilli fest in a couple of weeks :-D

YG

YG Report 19 May 2013 21:34

Don't forget to wash your paws afterwards, Errol or you will jumping around like a spring lamb when you go to the privvy :-D :-D

ErrolSheep

ErrolSheep Report 19 May 2013 21:30

I shall not only do that but I shall also coat them with strong chillis to make sure
