I'm in Winchester - motorways and most main roads okay, Park & Ride okay,
Shame I live just above the park & ride, don't drive, roads & pavements ungritted and no buses!

Basingstoke was horrendous before Christmas, and last week - my manager lives there and couldn't get to work last week. Stocks of grit in Hampshire are low and they're only gritting the roads once a day now.

It's really a bit of a gamble. It's above freezing point here, and in Basingstoke, and the ice/snow is melting. However, in both places the temperature's due to drop to -1 overnight, so the melt may freeze!

What area is your OH coming from?
If he can stick to the motorway, it should be okay.

So he can stick to the motorways.
Try looking at this site in the morning - should give you a good idea.

There is a park & ride - may be useful, depends on where the course is.

good luck!
