Quite a few years ago, when a neighbour who was teaching at the time and earning a fair wage attacked my car on several occasions (due to something she believed about me from an old woman in the street whose husband later admitted she had made it up to get sympathy) she had to go to Court but was given legal aid, so I would imagine if it happened and this system was in place, she would have had to pay towards her costs. I had assumed at the time she would have had to hire a solicitor etc but was told by the Police, (who were steaming mad about the whole thing as she had caused damage before to other cars and they were fed up with her) that the court case hadn't cost her a penny. |
