electric kettle

Please can someone recommend a reliable electric kettle. We bought a R****** Ho***s this morning, and the lid release broke within an hour,( returned for refund) - this was to replace a fri******daire kettle which leaks. Any advice welcome!

I'm REALLY unlucky with electric kettles........I seem to blow them up after about 6 months !!!

we only buy cheap one,s from s....burys for £4.79 if they last 6mth or more ok had last on 12months are ok

Bought own brand kettle from Asda 3 years ago and still going.no problems with it.

I bought a Haden for about £12 four years ago and it's still going strong. It's one of those with a plate over the element, and we are in a very hard water area, so descaling is easy.

The lid is beginning to crack a bit now, so it will soon be time for another one, and if I can find one like it I'll snap it up. Never had a kettle last me so long since the whistling one we used to put on the Rayburn when I was little.

Many thanks, hope we can get one which lasts this time. I remember the whistling gas kettles, they lasted ages.

Kettles and Irons here (in my house anyway) don't last long.I blame it on the Hard Water.I just buy fairly cheap ones,and cross my fingers.
