I have just bought 100 x 100 watt light bulbs and I CAN SEE THE LIGHT !!!

I am
SO fed up of the dim light of a 'government approved' 60 watt bulb!!

I can now see what is going on in my kitchen!

SUCH JOY !!

I hate those new light bulbs, by the time they have come up to full power I have often finished what I went in the room to do and switched it off again, after fumbling about in twilight! Dangerous for very elderly or poor sighted folk I should think.

Sorry Joan,

I seem to have put two threads up at the same time so deleted one.

Apologies if you replied on that one before I deleted!

Perhaps due to 'twitchy fingers in VERY dim light' (tee hee) !

I must be the only one in the world who likes them.
I have been using them for years.
As a registered disabled person I was sent these bulbs years ago, and indeed quite a few since.
I love them. I have them in every lamp, and ceiling light in the house.

There I am again..... STANDING ALONE!!
Please someone love me.....puleeese.....;-0(

I bought one of those power saver 100w equivalent bulbs.... £2.50 !! it was. Took ages to fully brighten & a horrible yellow light. Its supposed to last for 6yrs.....my a**e.....2 mths later it started to madly flicker. What a waste of money!!

I didn't realise shops could sell old stocks of 100w bulbs. Think I might scour the shops tomorrow.

Dea, that's worth having - I have been buying some old style bulbs when I see them, will check out on Amazon and get some too when I can afford it.
O.h.'s birthday this week so no spare cash.

We use all new style bulbs, but the highest wattage I can get. I quite like the slow start-up as it gives my eyes time to adjust to the light.

I wonder how our ancestors managed to survive without light bulbs at all?

Surely they all killed themselves tripping over things in the dark, and we aren't really here ...

I'm looking forward to LED lighting being perfected for room lighting. We use a string of soft-white LED Christmas lights draped on a bookshelf for background lighting at night in the living room now. I keep considering attaching a couple of strings under my kitchen cupboards for task lighting.

Problem at the moment is they die awfully fast too. The culture of planned obsolescence is going to have to catch up to reality soon, methinks.

Hi Dea.... is your name Dea'Anne?

Mine is Deanna... as in DEE..Anna. lol

And Bob..we are allowed to buy the bulbs untill the stocks disappear.

But... I say again... I love them.

Liz.... more flattering to the *older folks*????????
You wanna smack in the chops... Friend???????

See you tomorrow, perhaps.

Here in Oz the Gov't has decreed that it 's illegal for shops to sell the old light bulbs after a certain date-drat! If I had realised that,I would have gone around and bought up a whole lot!The new ones are useless!
