I still don't know what a DFS sale is, but at least it kinda makes sense. ;)

Janey - DFS is a company that harasses the public by TV, flyers thrugh the door and massive adverts in newspapers - they sell rubbish three piece suites and offer four years interest free credit with nothing to pay for the first year - that should give you an idea of the quality

I wrote to our local newspaper and asked if they could be given an ASBO [anti-social behaviour order] and they actually printed it!

Ah - we call it The Brick. ;)

There's another, Leon's, but they have very entertaining television commercials. The Brick just shouts.

oh yes!!!


we have it here!

Constant TV ads, flyers, the lot


we even went and looked in there 2 or 3 years ago when we wanted a new dishwasher


They did have the major brands ......................... but none of the salespoeple knew anything about them!

I knew more, and that is saying a lot!



so we left, and went to an appliance store, one with a good name for after service etc. Probably paid a little more, but still ...........................

well that is a relief - and so unexpected too!!

when I was looking for a new suite about three years ago I went in DFS for a laugh - a flashy salesman dashed over to assist and I said "Do you ever have a sale?" to which he replied "Well actually we have one on at the moment" I said "Well you've kept that very quiet" My friend fell about laughing and he certainly had never heard of irony or sarcasm
