I have a couple of trees on Ancestry, but I cant remember how I installed them. I do not subscribe to the site but can access one of my trees. I dont have many names on it, it was put on (as was the other) to try to get the message across to others that my sister did not marry Methusalahs grandson. Unfortunately the idiots are not interested in correcting their trees.

I also have a tree on My Heritage.

Huia.

you can download your genes tree as a gedcom file and import it onto Ancestry.

click on import/export gedcom on the bottom of the page. I suppose you would be exporting it onto your computer.

First of all, you have to have your tree on your computer. if it is*only* on here, scroll down to the bottom of the page to the dark green line and click where it says * Import/export gedcom* and follow the instructions.

Once it is safely installed on your home computer, ( I think its sent as an attachment to an email) open up Ancestry.
Along the top is a pale green bar saying things like Home, Family Trees, Search, etc etc.

Hover your mouse of 'Family Trees'. A drop down box will appear. The last option is 'Upload a GEDCOM'

You don't have to type in the file name - it's probably best not to - just click 'browse' and find your gedcom on your home computer.

Give it a name, and if you want it to be 'public', leave that option box ticked.

Accept the T&C

Upload, and Bob's yer Uncle!
