Hi all nice to see you.

I'm wondering what the story about Adam is.

Poor john and Jett.John is getting friendly with Marilyn,do i see a romance on the way?

We have emmerdale where the vet is addicted to pain killers also in Eastenders, Sharron has the same problem. They seem to copy each others story lines.

Yes I did miss Alf, but not for the same reasons that I will miss Brax. Wonder when Leah and VJ will be back? I don't mind having a break from Irene.

Berona Report 1 Jun 2013 10:11

Kim - hopefully, we might not miss him. We didn't miss Alf when he went to UK and did a West End summer pantomime. They can work around them. Seems that Irene is somewhere else at the moment. Charlie's appearance will only be like Xavier's was. She did a small amount of filming then flew off to the US. I wish her luck. I can imagine that there would not be much outdoor filming on the beach in our winter, so we might be lucky.

Yes I happened to see Spencer in that other show. He looked much younger, so he's obviously up for a few roles. Not a bad actor really.

Berona I miss All Saints too it was something I looked forward to every Tuesday night. Another good series bites the dust. I liked John Howard's character too.

Brax, well I can see where this is all headed and how Charly will figure in the scenes to come. I'm going to miss him for the months he will be away in the US.

Berona Report 31 May 2013 00:09

I have seen that actor in a number of roles and he always fits into them well. I liked him in All Saints - Georgie Parker (Roo) was in that too. I was sorry to see it finish.

I have also seen 'Spencer' in another teenage series, shown on another channel late in the afternoon. He must be proud of himsell - being in two shows at the same time. He does his own surfing too.

I thought someone had mentioned Sid was leaving. I will miss him as he plays the doctor role well. Indi is a bit thin on the ground at the moment. She is really annoying me. I am enjoying the current Braxton storylines. Kyle is a good actor, but Heath is just a boofhead.

The Sid actor played Tony Mohkbel in the first Underbelly for Channel 9. He is bound to get plenty of work.

I still watch the old episodes of The Bill. Can't stomach all this reality tv. I watch a few things on the Fox*** stations, but not much. Son loves his sport and takes over the loungeroom.

I think the Marilyn/John scenario will fall into place with some perspective on both sides. I think John is doing a good job with Jett, but I wish he would let him help Casey out.

Off to watch Wentworth now. Hello to all you ladies, hope everyone is well. xx

You have similar taste to mine, Barbara. We have had one season with John Barnaby but still get a run of repeats of Tom's stories. I watch them, even if I have already seen them. I can never remember 'who done it', and I still enjoy it.
Haven't seen Jessica Fletcher for a while, but we will no doubt see her again before very long.
I record Home and Away in the mornings. I missed the early episodes (1987) and picked it up when they got to 1989. Now up to 1991, I don't watch it to enjoy, just to see if I can see any current actors in it. In the evening, I watch the current version - and record it too, in case I get interrupted - then erase it later. I find that if I miss one episode, it's usually one where something important happens - and I'm left wondering "what happened to.......?". Although I don't appreciate some of their storylines, I will say that they move along in time. They even have John Palmer taking Marilyn to dinner and it is happening so soon after Gina's funeral - it's a bit hard to accept - but that's how fast they move along.

Hello Barbra, nice to hear from you again.
We have three main commercial TV channels which are constantly sniping at each other - and re-arranging their programmes to overlap, in an effort to force the viewers to watch THEIR shows. Two of them have just had a major court battle over Mel B, who was a judge on X-Factor. They also like to prove each other to be liars, etc. and the public is sick of it. Between them, they have so many cooking shows and other reality shows, the viewers are tired of that, too.
From the way they keep changing their viewing times, I get the opinion that someone is 'spying' on one and telling the other what is coming up, so that they can overlap it with a similar, or better show. I wish the channels would 'grow up' and get on with things - and give the public what they want to see.
The National channels don't seem to take part in this fiasco - but the culprits still overlap times with popular shows from them too. We can watch one and record one - but when we have three or more popular shows on at the same time, it can be very frustrating. The competition is called 'ratings' but the viewers are not interested. We are just angry!

He won't be around to write the cheques soon. I read that he has finished taping and is parting company with the Network because they didn't like something he said about them. Don't know where he is going. He was quite good in All Saints, but that is finished and belonged to the same network, anyway.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been voicing my opinion on H&A Facebook, but found that all of my comments were showing up on my 'friends' pages. I doubt that any of them watch H&A, so I have deleted all of them - until I find out how to change my settings so that this doesn't happen. It was an eye-opener to find that FB stores everything we have ever written since the day we joined. Had the same thing happen when I closed my FriendsReunited account - then re=joined months later and they told me I had 250 messages! On checking, found that everything I had said in every message (both to and from) right back to when I first joined it, years ago. So, I've just left it there. If anyone can get into it, they will see I'm not using it. It's true. Nothing is private once it goes onto the Internet!

I'm enjoying the Brax/Casey storyline, but the rest is just mushy rubbish. Just so boring. I've taken to reading the paper during some of the scenes.

Berona I don't know what has brought on the frozen shoulder. I didn't think I would ever have it again. I can get through the day, but when I wake up the pain is through the roof, takes me so long to get out of bed.

Rosie is really grating with her situation and now Spencer and Sasha have made a neat little threesome (so to speak). Now another nasty girl is on the scene. Waiting to see if Indi locates some record of Romeo, but looks like she will be asking her father for another loan. Poor Sid has an open cheque book.

Berona Report 26 May 2013 23:49

Allan has posted some weird and wonderful ideas of 'what's happening next' but haven't heard from him for quite a while. Some of his ideas were better than what the writers have given us. They go off into a subject which they know nothing about and don't do any research, or have an expert to advise them. I understand that this show runs in many countries, so they should get their facts right. Their use of formal English needs brushing up too.

I always tape H&A in case I am interrupted. I then delete it if I am able to watch in the evening. I don't watch much after that (7pm) so do a lot of recording - and watch the next afternoon - f/forwarding on the commercials.
Right now, the rubbish they serve up to us is an insult to our intelligence. I used to have cable TV - tried one for two years and another for four years, but everything on there was so old, I lost interest in it. Son had it connected and paid for it, but he wanted it for motor sport and when the providors lost the motor sport contracts, he had it disconnected. He would have left it on for me, but I wasn't fussed about it.

Allan and I would post on this thread Berona but we were never very complimentary about Home and Away... 5.30pm is not my TV time. A friend of mine tapes it to DVD and then watches a weeks worth when the children are asleep.

I used to watch it a long time ago, that and Neighbours but they went on and on..so I long ago gave them up and it's only himself who watches Coro now. I would rather read.

Edit: I like the great British Bake Off.. must be the only cooking program I watch now... used to watch Rick Stein when his little dog was alive and I watched Jamie on a couple of his travel food programmes. But am not a Master Chef fan.. did watch a couple of the NZ series but was not impressed with the way it was run.

Ah, Persie! Nice to have you back on the boards and to see you on this thread too!
Didn't know you had watched Home and Away. I have been having my say (too much I suppose) on the websites - then found that my comments were showing up on the news feeds of my FB 'friends'. I didn't know that was going to happen! I have now changed settings - and no doubt made a mess of that too - but I'll keep working on it until I get it right (if ever).

What you say about the Biggest Loser doesn't surprise me. That weight had to come down, regardless of how they did it......The show must go on!...don't worry about what the contestants are going through.

As for combing the hair in H&A - I think you might be referring to Ruby. The hair was darkened and very slightly more combed when she left the show and the others have slowly begun to comb theirs more than they did a couple of years ago.
I'll check on the website to see if it is showing in NZ. Seems to be showing in many other countries, so it possibly is on in NZ. I know My Kitchen Rules has just finished in NZ. I have been on that website too. It's all a matter of us having nothing but rubbish to look at here - so I prefer to use my computer to criticize them than sit there watching what they are dishing up to us.

Editted - Perse - 5.30 weeknights on chanel 3.

Persephone Report 26 May 2013 05:39

Regarding Biggest Loser, I have only watched the one series because of my family interest in it, when Ali Vincent won.. she is still exercising and runs weight loss programs and meets. Her mother my cousin Bette Sue was originally quite shocked when she went on the program to find that she still had to keep up the exercises when the cameras were not rolling. It was every day relentlessly and they just splice together the most controversial and interesting (I guess) bits.

Re Home and Away .. I will have to check it out am wondering if we still have it on here.. I think they used to play it during the day after it lost its initial burst onto the screens.

Are they combing their hair now?

Nice to see you posting, Kim. I was wondering if all was OK with you. What caused the shoulder problem? My knees are giving me grief at the moment, now that the cold weather is settling in - and particularly when rain is hanging about - although it hasn't rained properly here yet. Inner Sydney has had it, but I'm 20 miles out and we have only had it sprinkling for a few moments, a few times and only once a fine shower, which looked more like a mist - and only for ten minutes. Just enough to make things uncomfortable, but not enough to even water the gardens. Of course, doctor says the weather has nothing to do with how we feel - but he obviously hasn't had any kind of arthritis or rheumatism - yet.

I have been looking in and posting on the Facebook site of Home and Away (and the cooking programs too) and there are a lot of angry people out there who are unhappy about the way in which the program times have been changed around. I still think it's because Ch 7 is panicking, trying to out-do their competition - to a point of making a mess of their programming times. I feel that we are seeing far too many reality shows - too many cooking programs and this latest one of renovating homes is such a farce - I don't think the contestants ever swing a hammer. They stand there amongst the mess, with a hammer in their hand, then I'm sure they move out of the way, and the real builders move in and do the job. The contestants then come back for the final filming. What a joke! As for the 'biggest loser', I feel sorry for those people who really have a problem with their weight, or they wouldn't be there - but they are used and abused into making fools of themselves for ratings. They should not be made to do some of the things they do, all in the name of losing weight - or ratings. They can't be expected to do the kind of exercise they do on screen, when they are finished the show. The two chanels 7 and 10 are constantly sniping at each other and overlapping times to catch the viewers......and we haven't even got to Big Brother on Ch 9 yet!!!
With nothing worth watching on TV, I am spending more time on my computer - hence the time to spend criticising them on their websites!

Tamara has a big mouth and doesn't know when to keep her beak out of things. Well that's set everything into a downward spiral again. Why can't we have things on an even keel just for a while, but still have some excitement at the same time.

Still having trouble with the programming, an hour episode tonight, but nothing now on a Friday night. Really wet here today, but not as cold overnight. Yes Marion the shoulder is in the freezing state at the moment. Left shoulder was bad and took 3 years to recover, still not 100%. The pain in the right is over the top and I am doing very light exercises. Never thought I would get it both sides. :-(

Good luck with your check in July. I hope you don't need surgery.

Hubby bought me a new monitor, but computer is still switching off, just not as often. I plugged it into a different socket, but has not made any difference. Will have to go to computer doc I think.

I am really missing the Gina character. Just goes to show what a good role she was playing.

Watching a bit of the cricket test over there Marion, looks freezing with summer just around the corner. :-0

Take care all and have a happy and safe weekend.

Our Casey is in real trouble now, thanks to Adam setting him up.
Ricky and Tamara should both be run out of town. Ricky is too devious and Tamara is one big trouble-maker. I feel that Tamara has been mis-cast in that she says all these grown-up things, and doesn't look a day over twelve years old. We see her serving drinks at the restaurant (for which she has to be 18), then we see her in her school uniform and she looks like she would be in year 7 or 8 - not 12!
I have to admit she is acting well, but wrongly cast in that role.
