I agree Jean.
Velindre have been absolutely fabulous with my hubby. Nothing is too much trouble for them and every member of staff is so lovely. When hubby was in our local hospital 2 weeks ago they were phoning me to see how he was.

I have nothing but praise for them. <3

removed is cancerous but the surrounding tissue is normal in apearence, so im a very lucky lady.

It appears some sail through life without so much as a headache and in my opinion and through no fault are the least understanding, because how could they be

i really think you have to walk that persons walk to either care or understand.

my mum moans constantly and would never put herself out even slightly but expects everyone else too, she has lost 2 husbands in 30yrs so i can only sympathise, as i havent.

well i await further insructions for treatment i think its tablets and i go back in a couple of weeks.

they were suspicious as the size of the polyp was very large, it has a stalk like apearence with a flat head apparently.

im going to potter in the garden for a while will pop in and out. x

As long as the surrounding tissue is normal it sounds as if it hasn't spread. But they will tell you if it has and what the treatment is. Just stay positive and eat a healthy diet.

Puss,I'm sure you will be OK...stay positive, seems as though you caught it in time.
If it's any consolation,I had cancer of the salivary gland 64 years ago and it came back 61 years ago,,long before radio therapy and chemo .
I had radium needles.
My mother was told that I never had to work hard....what a joke!!
I believe so much in the power of the mind.I am living proof that it works!
Thinking of you.

Hi Puss.
Sorry to hear that the one biopsy result has come back abnormal. It is you that is the strong amazing one and you will be OK.
Hubby has finished his treatment but it is the next few weeks that will make him more ill because the treatment is still working. In about 6 weeks time he will have a PET scan to see if there is cancer still there. We went to the hospital this morning and the doctor was not happy that hubby has lost another 2.2kg in a week. They would have prefered it if hubby had been admitted as he needs to sort out the feed and vomiting. They totally understood what is happening with my Mum therefore did not push it for hubby to stay in. Instead they went through different options and feeding regimes for hubby to try at home. They also added new medications ( like a pharmacy here). If there is no improvement by Friday i have to phone the hospital and arrange for hubby to go down and see the doctor.
My Mum is still on a ventilator but is stable. They have now ruled out pneumonia but are still awaiting test results. The doctors are going to try and lift her sedation tomorrow and try her without the ventilator to see how she copes.
Thankyou for all your support. I am so so grateful.
Alyson xx

Hi Puss.
Happy to hear that you are doing well.
Hubby has been back in hospital, It was our local hospital and to be honest they were useless. Did not have a clue. He came home on Saturday. We have an appointment tomorrow at Velindre ( cancer hospital) so not sure what will happen because hubby is back to the start with vomiting again. On top of that my Mum was rushed into hospital on Sunday morning and is currently on a ventilator in intensive care. The doctors are not sure what is wrong with her so waiting for different results to come back which will hopefully tell us more.
Really not sure just how much more heartache is going to be thown at me. :-(
