I have just been talking to Joyce, she sounds a lot better and doesn't cry now. She is going to try and eat a bit more and promised me she would try to eat some toast or something at lunchtime.
She asked me to thank you all for the thoughts and cards she has been sent.

I dont post on here now days and havent been on to look for a few weeks, but I felt I had to post for Joyce.

I had a quick chat with Joyce on Saturday teatime and she had been out with Jan and her m.i.l. to the supermarket. She is still not fancying food so not eating, I told her off and said to try harder to eat something because of her diabetes so she said she would do what she could. Jan is obviously worried about her too and keeps asking her to try to eat.
I hope our Joyce will soon feel like eating as it's some time now since she started getting the problem and she needs to keep her strength up.

Will catch up with her again soon and keep you posted if she doesn't get back on here herself.

Had a text yesterday to ask if I was around but had to explain I was out shopping with o.h. for diy things, said I will make contact with her today and she can offload a bit to me.

Will let you know how she is doing, if I manage to talk with her, o.h.is going into work in a bit so will have more chance to talk with Joyce.

Yes Liz it was a heart stopping moment, thank you.... you do pick your times.
I spoke to Joyce a few seconds after I had put the phone down from Liz, she had been trying to get through for ages, poor Joyce. She is still in a state of shock and can't seem to come to terms with losing her daughter, as if it hasn't sunk in yet. She has a friend who lived in the same road as her but moved, this friend speaks english and has started coming to see Joyce and took the dog out for her yesterday. It cheers Joyce up to have a natter and a cuppa with a friend, she is going again today so at least Joyce has some company.
I'll be ringing her again tomorrow.

Couldn't make contact with Joyce today, but spoke with Caz and she will be talking with Joyce again soon. I will try to contact Joyce over the next couple of days, and hope she will feel well enough to talk. The last few months especially have been very hard for her but she knows how much people here care about her. It's such a shame there hasn't really been anyone who can speak English well enough outside the family so she could have a close friend nearby - it would make all the difference I think. It must be so lonely to be away from close friends, however good Jan and his family are.

Nearly gave poor Caz a heart attack when I called, she was bending down looking in the bottom of her wardrobe for something and it meant the phone on the table next to her was close to her ear.
