Robin, I would think boat would be cheapest but not sure once you add up the whole journey. Pur up a separate thread asking, you might find somebody who has done the trip who can advise.

Marie, pleased you are feeling better and hope the cold sores heal soon. Snow Brrr don't want any more of that stuff thanks.
Good luck with the singing class.

Hello all
I too like the changes , I havent found anything I like to put on my post.
I am feeling better but now I have cold sores on my lips :-( :-(

I had a lovely day on wednesday my 72nd. Birthday I went out to lunch with my 2 best pals ,and then for Dinner Kathleen and Family cooked dinner and Barbara & girls ate with us. :-) lots of hugs from the grandchildren and some lovely present's with an OWL theme (I collect OWL'S).
A lovely umbrella with a wise old Owl and a story on the umbrella, A silver chain with and Owl very nice, and a beautiful trinket box with enamel and stones on it .
Just the thing to put on my bedside table for my hearing aid.

The Black boy that they gave me for Xmas is doing fine, so far the frost hasn't touched it as we have had it out since Xmas.
The new tree is on my enclosed Patio it wont go out untill the end of Spring .

To-morrow I have my singing Group for tutoring I will have 2 more ladies as they were unable to come last week.
The weather here to-day was very cold the wind is Icey I hope it is a little better to-morrow.
There was snow on all the mountians around us it fell last night, we had rain and sleet last night. ;-)I have been having lot's of problems trying to get on to the post's on Genes and even when I manage to get on the whole thing stops (I found the refresh button and used it but I had the same broblem it keeps freezing when the green band is coming across it stops half way. :-(
it is so frustrating I was working on my tree and it stuffed up there also. Grrrr :-(
Time to go Ladies, I need to do some tidying as I start lesson's at 10am.,and I must get an early night.

Please stay well <3 Marie :-)

Cath Lol!!! I am sure you are not a witch.

It is a sunny morning here, OH has gone to golf and I have a load of washing in, then I hope to go into town.

Marie, it must be hurtful not to hear from your son. do you hear from him at all or is it just cards and presents he is negligent with? I hope the virus clears up for you soon, it is hanging on a bit now.
Sylvia, glad that your virus is on the way out.

Cath2010 Report 9 May 2011 08:01

Morning all from a sunny Guernsey. :D
Ann I do prefer Cath or Kate as my OH calls me. My mother is the only one who calls me Catherine and usually when I've done or said something she disagrees with, lol. The witch is appropriate as from time to time I have been referred to as "the old witch". Witch , maybe, but OLD!!! :-(

Hope Marie and Sylvia are feeling better.

Sylvia
you dont have to be sorry; its not your problem. I'll just have to deal with it. so thanks for your cyber hugs.
The photo of your fashionable mum, reminded me of a lady my daughter nurses. She is 91 yrs and had her teeth whitened last week. and she wears lipstick all the time, day and night.!

Marie, I hope the cold snap hasnt hurt your new blackboy.
We had a few of those when I grew up in Hervey Bay, and I saw some before Easter here in the nursery, but didnt dare try. I thought they would die in the frost. of which we have not had any yet.

the wind from the south is very chilly today, and leaves are blowing everywhere.
Men have gone to get a load of wood.
Grandson is feeling much better today and has gone back to school. This morning he said "I dont like school that much, i like to stay home"
His mother on 4 overnight shifts this week. she is not impressed. but for the money to pay her uni debts she wouldnt do nights.
:-)

Hi Marie

glad that you got at least a little treat.

and that you were given a Black Boy. I love those! But we were told in no unknown certain terms by a WA person back in 2006 (when we were last down there) that we weren't to use that name! Pity if so, 'cos it seems to fit the plant!!

I'm sorry that Michael did not contact you. Where does he live?

This bug, whatever it is, is a devil, isn't it?! I'm on the upswing now, but am still tight chested, and coughing.

Take care

Hello All,
It is very cold here in Bathurst we have had 4 days of heavy frosts , it has wiped out all the summer veggies.
I have been laid low over the past 10 days with a virus, lot's of coughing and sputum to get rid of, the tempreture has gone, so I am hoping for better day's ahead.
Mother's Day in Australia also.
The family (meaning my Daughters Barbara and Kathleen had planned a brunch at our tea & coffee shop, but I was not well enough to go, however they bought me a nice coffee and a lovely slice home, then presented me with a Black Boy tree, for my native garden. I was thrilled , as I now will have a pair at the entrance to my Native area.( they are very expensive to buy)
I received a card from my Daughter in Foster Tuncurry and it arrived on the friday before mother's day (-suprise it is usually late.) she also rang me which was nice.
Sean & Ryan phoned me, nothing from Michael, zero Xmas & Mother's day /Birthday last year.
Breaks my heart that he cant even ring me, I dont expect a present but a card or phone call would be nice,he lives so far away, I used to go and visit, but my car would not be up to the trip now.
Enough of the feeling down.

It is rather overcast to-day but I must try and make an effort and transplant some of my seedling's.
I hope you are all well.
I like the Pic's on the side very nice I will have to find something to put up.I also like the research thingy at the bottom.
Kindest Regards to you all
Marie.

Hi moonbi

oh dear!

(((xxx)))

it was Mother's Day over here as well

....... daughter got OH to buy me a bouquet of flowers, because they had been ill all week (with colds) and alsot with trying to keep on top of burgeoning work.

OH never does do anything for me on Mother's Day ...... he says that I am not his mother!

Having said that ............... he does well over 50% of the cooking, and always does the weekend meals, including a roast dinner on Sunday

Tonight, he's doing roast lamb.

yesterday Aus had Mothers' Day.

all in all it was pretty good for me. Not!
I was told that I didnt need to make a cooked meal.
Lets just have toasted sandwiches instead.
"well what is cooking ?" I asked.
so I still had to get the lunch ready!

No phone call from Son1 in Maine. I guess they dont have Mothers day there so he didnt get reminded.
Then I had a phone call from sil who rang because she thought I might be sad and remembering my own Mother who passed away
2007. well I wasnt upset about that, until she rang.

So enough whinging from me

you all take care
