Switching channels I saw the Location Location girl being shown how to make a Christmas cake. Interested as my hobby for many years was making and designing cakes for special occcasions. This was to do with treacle - syrup would be the same. Now I used to warm the spoon to help the treacle run off but this was dab of oil on kitchen roll, rub spoon both sides, dip into treacle and it left the spoon as nearly clean as a whistle. OH said he could better than that - lick it!
