Here we are again at last. Thank you Jo for contacting GR. I also did and they didn't want to lose a customer so here I am. It 's nice to be back, how I miss you all when I cannot blabber to you.
:-D :-D :-DWe are still not completely unpacked, but things are looking nice and my kitchen fine. We have to move a wardrobe in our bedroom and I've given lots of clothes to the place for poor people - don't think you have such a place in England.
My son in law said if I didn't clear some out he would do it! He was I hope only joking, but I did get down to it yesterday. It was such a hot day and I did far too much and felt ill.
I would love to get away on holiday but now have to go away with nursing, which is very binding. My catheter has to be rinsed 3 times a week and I have help with my elastic stockings.
I have been doing some card making and am longing to begin on my Xmas cards.
I have a lovely girl to help in the house and she comes twice a week for 2 and a quarter hours, so that is a total of 4 1/2 hours, And her name is ???? Sylvia. Yes, we have the same name.
I do have lovely people around me for which I am very thankful.
Now must pay some bills for Johan. He never wants to do this himself.
Love to you all.

Good to hear from you Sylvia and to know that you are settled into your new home. It helps when you can get the kitchen tidy doesn't it.

Yes I am sure it is a problem to need the medical help, it does cramp your style. maybe you could go for days out instead of staying away.

Lucky you to have reliable help in the house, that is good.

Glad to see you back with us Sylvia and catch up on all your news. Lovely to hear that you have your kitchen sorted would be lost without mine. We have lots of charity shops here for different things that you can give things to then there is always the Salvation Army, I generally give things to them or to one of our local hospices. You enjoyed your last holiday, perhaps you could do the same again? Good help is hard to find you are very lucky.
Dont think Heathers new grandchild has arrived yet obviously going to keep them waiting.

Now like Sylvia I am off to pay some bills!!

Hi all,
So where is everybody today?
First of all it was so hot here today that we were opening doors and windows and now, after steady rain, the temperature has dropped and all doors and windows have have had to be closed.
We met our neighbours yesterday - she 93 years of age and he 96. She still cooks and knits a lot. She knits blankets for the poor children.
Johan's youngest sister - my age - wants to come to visit us with her daughter. I am looking forward to having them for a day.
I have been making some more cards today to replenish my stock.
My hairdresser came again today. It is so nice that she still comes and does my hair so I look tidy for the next week.
Enjoy yourselves, Sylvia xxx ;-)

Jean good to see you back on here you are doing well with your Christmas cards, keep looking for some good ideas but have not found anything I like yet need to get started as have so many to make.. Been struggling with my ATC's but have finally finished them and reasonable satisfied with them.

Sylvia your weather sounds a bit like ours here in the week, it was so hot but today we have had showers and the wind was quite strong, but it has turned into a lovely evening. Off to a bbq tomorrow so hope it is nice. Good to hear that your usual hairdresser is still coming to do your hair, always makes us feel good having our hair done.

Hubby came over for the weekend to at least I have not been on my own, although I still have 2 weeks to of being here so I am sure I will get used to it!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi all,
Just a quick pop in.
I had my usual bladder rinse again today and the district nurse brought a young dark-skinned man with her. He came to introduce himself and to say that he would be joining the team of nurses working in our area.
He was asking patients (female) what they thought about a young dark skinned man washing them. I told him in all honesty I don't particularly like the idea but I know they have to accept everybody these days in the nursing and her could come and wash me if necessary.
He thanked me for being honest with him.
Most of the boxes are now unpacked but no sign of my vacuum cleaner accessories. I am now using a spare vacuum cleaner of my youngest daughters
My youngest daughter - Susan - is coming again tomorrow to help me with the last things. We decided to sell our blanket box. Difficult to part with. It is a Chinese carved one and I have a soft spot for it.
Now enjoy the sunshine whilst you can.

Sylvia, it is not quite the same having a male nurse look after us, but I suppose it is something we will have to get used to, my daughter had a male midwife deliver her middle child, I suppose you just have to think if the doctor offered to do it would we object? Sounds like you are almost sorted with the unpacking, hope the vacuum cleaner 'bits' turn up soon, I use mine a lot so would rally miss them if the disappeared.

Have not managed to make any cards yet whilst house sitting there seems so much gardening to do have spent my time picking & blanching apples and freezing them also picked lots of raspberries and blackberries to freeze, need to make some jam from them both but that can wait now till next week. Off now for an hour of card making before I have an early night, have to be up at 6.30 to let the chickens out of the hut, so have been going to bed earlier than I would normally do.

Take care everyone

Hallo all
I had a sad telephone call this evening from an ex neighbour from where I used to live.
My ex neighbour on the third floor was frying chips and set the flat on fire. The whole flat has burnt out and she has nothing over. I telephoned her this evening and she has a very shaky voice so she has had a terrible time of it. Her husband has had a stroke and is an invalide and she is also a sick person. I told her not to make a decision in a hurry or she may regret it. I think she ought to have a flat like we have as she has to buy everything over new and then there will not be so much to buy.
She has a house in Hungary and is going there for a few weeks to think things over.
It is quite cold here in the evenings and we have a lot of wind - some rain during the day and some sun.
Love to you all.

Hi Girls, I'm back :)

I've had lots of cuddles with Savannah, she's so cute and tiny and full of lots of smiles (unusually) for a newborn.
We had a lovely holiday in Dartmouth, the weather was brilliant, I think we only had one day of drizzly rain. Back now and catching up with all the washing :)

Hope everyone is keeping well x

Sylvia so sorry to hear that your old neighbour is having such a terrible time, but at least they both got out of the flat safely and it did not spread to other flats.

Heather, how lovely really jealous as my youngest is now 16 months old and is running around and 'jabbering' they grow up so quick, so make sure you get all your cuddles you can now!

Ladies if you have any ideas for the next 3-4 months ATC titles please let Issy or me know.

Morning Ladies well one week of my house sitting has flew past - just one more week to go, hope your weather is a little better than mine at the moment, we seem to have had constant drizzle for the last few days, still it is lovely and mild out so off to pick yet more fruit it does not matter how much I pick there still seems to be as much the next day just waiting to be picked. Have a load of aubergines in the greenhouse that are ready and busy looking in cookery books to see how to freeze them have never done them before if not will make lots of ratatouille and freeze that instead! So much for catching up on my card making, still I have made one Christmas card!!
Have just noticed that the sun is out, so off I go to pick the fruit........

Have a lovely weekend all of you
