Hi all,
Yes, still around and as busy as ever.
I had a mad day on Wednesday when I had to go to our Health Centre and lost my way and on the way back lost my way completely. Nobody seemed to know the way either. I even asked two men working on the road and they didn't know so I replied that they were as stupid as I was then.
On the way back decided to look at the sales and bought myself tricot harem trousers, tangerine colour - and two long sleeved T-shirts one brown and one cream colour and a short sleeved one, also cream coloured.
This morning joined the class for handwork and they were only knitting and sewing and I had taken my cards to do. I immediately sold 5!
I have promised to go again sometime and also the card making group. I was talking to a younger man at the computer and he gives computer lessons. I told him that Johan had just gone to a computer lesson at the library. I may see what I can learn here as it costs no extra.
We are supposed to be having good weather this weekend and then it is going to turn again. Johan is going to a veteran's reunion this weekend and my eldest daughter is going with him. I am glad she is going as I cannot and for Johan it is an emotional day. He had hoped to meet old buddies, but I have an idea that most of them have passed away.
Enjoy the sunshine girls.

Sylvia,
Somebody who lives in Holland married to a Dutch man wants to ask her mother in law to knit some baby booties. Any idea what they are called in Holland as the MiL didn't understand?

Sylvia sorry to hear that you are having difficulty booking a holiday, as you say it is not fair that you have to pay so much more to go, and then they are fully booked anyway!!
Sounds like you will have a good old natter over coffee and homemade cake when your bridesmaid comes for a visit to your new home. Good that you are getting back into your baking I should imagine that you have missed your cooking.

Hi all,
What lovely weather we are having now. I still have my hobby room to sort out but when the sun shines...................
I went out again on my scootmobile and bought one or two things for the house, including a mosquito curtain for the rear door.
The birds are certainly pleased we have moved here and have finished all the balls we brought with us. My help came today and she swept all around the back of the house and cleaned the garden chairs. I bought a plastic cover for the chairs so that she doesn't have to clean them so often.
Johan's youngest sister - my age, and who was my bridesmaid - is coming with her youngest daughter here on Saturday. I must bake a cake and think of what we are going to eat. Yes, I think I am winning regardng my health as I want to cook etc. etc.

I have been trying to book a holiday for Johan and myself, but because I have to have a bladder rinse 3 times a week I have to pay 3 times as much as normal. It's not fair having to pay more because you have a sickness.
The Red Cross and the Sunflower are well known handicapped holidays but they are both full t his year.
Now down to some more card making.
Sylvia with love xxx

Hi Ann, thanks for your comments. I love doing stitched cards and as long as I sit in good light I am fine although threading the needle which has to be fine, is sometimes a problem!! My glasses for reading and close work certainly have got much stronger though over the last couple of years! :-0

Jo, your card is so beautifully sewn. How do you have the patience (and eyesight) to do it, the stitches are so tiny?

Jo Jo Report 14 Aug 2011 09:12

Thanks Ann, I know, as I received an email from the person that at least one card will be late due to a death in the family, we seem to have quite a few members of the group with major problems in their lives at the moment, I really hope things improve for them all very soon.

Jill you could always sell the sheep with the house, I really hope it sells soon for you although as you say the market is very slow at the moment over there but your place seems like a great bargain for someone.

Having a very lazy day today, well sort of!! Have already cleaned out the chickens and hamsters and took the dogs for a walk and it is only 9am, still now I am putting on C&C on the tv and taking my sewing and putting my feet up for a couple of hours. Although the sun is shining and I feel that I really should be picking more fruit.................

Good afternoon Ladies and a very happy birthday to Ann xx

Been a busy summer so far, with the gite and classes and still no news on the house, still, I am more than happy to stay here for a well as originally we gave ourselves three years before we moved.

Sold two of our lambs this week and decided not to let our sheep lamb again, as long as Minty does not jump the fence !! We have kept sheep for quite awhile now and time to stop just in case the house sells.
Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the weekend;

xx Jill

PS Many thanks for the lovely and all so different ATCs x

Morning Ladies well one week of my house sitting has flew past - just one more week to go, hope your weather is a little better than mine at the moment, we seem to have had constant drizzle for the last few days, still it is lovely and mild out so off to pick yet more fruit it does not matter how much I pick there still seems to be as much the next day just waiting to be picked. Have a load of aubergines in the greenhouse that are ready and busy looking in cookery books to see how to freeze them have never done them before if not will make lots of ratatouille and freeze that instead! So much for catching up on my card making, still I have made one Christmas card!!
Have just noticed that the sun is out, so off I go to pick the fruit........

Have a lovely weekend all of you

Sylvia so sorry to hear that your old neighbour is having such a terrible time, but at least they both got out of the flat safely and it did not spread to other flats.

Heather, how lovely really jealous as my youngest is now 16 months old and is running around and 'jabbering' they grow up so quick, so make sure you get all your cuddles you can now!

Ladies if you have any ideas for the next 3-4 months ATC titles please let Issy or me know.

Hi Girls, I'm back :)

I've had lots of cuddles with Savannah, she's so cute and tiny and full of lots of smiles (unusually) for a newborn.
We had a lovely holiday in Dartmouth, the weather was brilliant, I think we only had one day of drizzly rain. Back now and catching up with all the washing :)

Hope everyone is keeping well x

Hallo all
I had a sad telephone call this evening from an ex neighbour from where I used to live.
My ex neighbour on the third floor was frying chips and set the flat on fire. The whole flat has burnt out and she has nothing over. I telephoned her this evening and she has a very shaky voice so she has had a terrible time of it. Her husband has had a stroke and is an invalide and she is also a sick person. I told her not to make a decision in a hurry or she may regret it. I think she ought to have a flat like we have as she has to buy everything over new and then there will not be so much to buy.
She has a house in Hungary and is going there for a few weeks to think things over.
It is quite cold here in the evenings and we have a lot of wind - some rain during the day and some sun.
Love to you all.

Sylvia, it is not quite the same having a male nurse look after us, but I suppose it is something we will have to get used to, my daughter had a male midwife deliver her middle child, I suppose you just have to think if the doctor offered to do it would we object? Sounds like you are almost sorted with the unpacking, hope the vacuum cleaner 'bits' turn up soon, I use mine a lot so would rally miss them if the disappeared.

Have not managed to make any cards yet whilst house sitting there seems so much gardening to do have spent my time picking & blanching apples and freezing them also picked lots of raspberries and blackberries to freeze, need to make some jam from them both but that can wait now till next week. Off now for an hour of card making before I have an early night, have to be up at 6.30 to let the chickens out of the hut, so have been going to bed earlier than I would normally do.

Take care everyone
Joxx
