Ann you are so good, wish I could be like that, I take after my father who kept everything, just in case!! Every now and again I will have a blitz of cupboards etc, but then things tend to get put in the garage for the next car boot hubby and son are doing, which never seems to happen!

Have a lovely time in the Lakes, hope the drive goes well and the rain holds off

Well I an hoping it doesn't rain as much as they said it would tomorrow as we are driving up the M6 to the LakeDistrict.

I managed to offload two large bags of books from the loft todat to my neighbour whose school is have a fete soon with stalls so feel good about that. then I opened a cupboard in the garage which I had completely forgotten about and it is full of containers I used to use when I did flower arranging. So got to get rid of that lot now.

Sylvia, it is difficult to downsize, I know I always want to keep everything!! Dread the day when I have to clear out the loft. As you say the move is not far away but at least you have people helping you. I am sure once you move you will still be able to make cards for your neighbour, just will mean posting them of to her. Difficult when we move away from our neighbours but you soon get to know all your new ones. You will have to let me know your new address.
Had a busy week, but tomorrow I have nothing to do, well apart from making 3 birthday cards even turned down an 'open garden' visit with my 3 sisters, just felt like I needed a free day.

Hallo all,
Well this is my only piece of sanity. My neighbour wanted me to make a card for her today and I had to say "no, I cannot". All my card things are packed away.
Jo, we are moving on the 25th June, that is two weeks tomorrow. Help, need some more hands somewhere!
My daughter is coming up from Eindhoven again on Sunday with her partner, who can take down lamps etc.
This weekend it is Whitsun, but the district nurse will be here to rinse out my bladder again. My help in the house will also be here. She doesn't mind if it is Sunday or Xmas, she will be here if she can, thank goodness.
I took a little break this afternoon and had a chin wag with my neighbour, who said how much she is going to miss me, aaaaaaah!
I did some shopping for her when I went out as she cannot walk too well.
Have a nice weekend everybody.
Love, Sylvia xxx

Evening all, Sylvia I am still having problems with my inernet going down so cannot post as often. Sorry to hear that your catheter has blocked again what a nuisance for you and the pain must be awful. At least the hospital sorted you out and lets hope the stronger solution works and it stops it blocking.

Weather still mixed here, sun rain, hail, thunderstorm, what more can it throw at us I wonder......

Sylvia, the catheter certainly gives you some problems, lets hope a stronger solution solves them. I am sure you are finding it tiring all this moving business, when will youa ctually move? Hope you will soon be in and settled.

Hallo everybody,
Where are you all?
I do hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine. I see that nobody has posted since 6 June
I am still busy packing and will be glad when it is all over. We went to see the new house on Tuesday and I suddenly had lots of pain and Johan took me to the hospital. My catheter was blocked again. Today I had an appointment with the urologist and he said I must have the catheter rinsed out more often with a stronger solution.
It is really a nuisance when you are busy and this sort of thing happens to you.
For those enjoying their birthday tomorrow, have a nice day. My daughter's birthday is also tomorrow.
Love and best wishes Sylvia xxx <3 ;-)

Hi all,
Well Johan and I woke around the same time this morning - 5.00 am, so we made an early start.
The weather is not so nice as it has been, but we need the rain. At the end of the afternoon the sun returned.
Our sitting room is so bare now, I want to run away.
We had no internet this morning either Jo, I wonder why?
Now have a nice evening,
love Sylvia xxx

Sorry haven't been around for a few day, have problems with my internet!!

Sylvia sounds like Susan is trying to ensure you downsize!! Still I am sure you will manage to keep everything you need, the rate you are going you will have it all packed away soon. Hope you managed to get a nice lie in this morning with no visitors and that your weather has been nice again today.

The weather here has been lovely here again today although it has now clouded over and looks like rain!!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi all,
Another busy day, but that is the story of my life I think.
I went to the market today as my cupboard was the proverbial Mother Hubbard cupboard this morning.
This afternoon a telephone call from Susan to say they were coming again this afternoon to help me. I thought here we go again with our throwing out. "Mummy, you don't knit any more, so why are you keeping these knitting needles". A good question Susan, but I do knit now and again and you cannot buy English knitting needles here, or at least I haven't seen any.
Another little argy bargy until they finally went around 6.00 pm. They have been wonderful helpers.
My other daughter has phoned apparently to say that when we move she will be staying for a few days here in Almere, I think she will sleep at my granddaughter's house.
I am so glad it is Saturday tomorrow, no district nurse, no doctors, maybe not so early up!
Enjoy the sunshine everybody,. for we don't know how long it is going to last, do we?
Sylvia xxx :-)

Sylvia, how nice for you to have Susan to help you with things. She sounds as if she has you weighed up with the 'can I throw this out?' etc. But also good that she appreciates your cooking. Lovely to have the children with you sometimes isn't it?

syljo

syljo Report 2 Jun 2011 20:37

Hi all,
Well what a day. I had my youngest daughter Susan and her husband here to help as it is a holiday here today - Ascension Day.
Susan has been a great help, inbetween the "can I throw this out", no wonder you cannot find anything". "What do you need this for".
Susan paid me so many compliments too about my beautiful cards and, talking to her father, Ï don't know how mummy manages to cook such delicious meals in such an untidy kitchen.
I made a delicious thick soup today and some toasties for lunch. Rene was going cycling this evening so cannot eat too late. He is soon going to do a castle tour of 4 castles, some 300 kilometres. What a sportsman he is. When Susan and Rene were married he was football mad, playing the role of goalkeeper. He now goes skating on the lakes in the winter and then of course there is the cycling. When we had a bad winter he did our famous "11 stedentocht". That is 11 towns tour on skates - and he finished it with a medal twice.
Funny enough Susan is not a sportswoman at all.
Oh well, I'd better stop here or I'd go on and on and on.
Have a nice evening.
How is the house selling going Jill?

Sylvia, glad that the nurse was able to sort you out. I suppose a male nurse is no different to a male doctor really. Yes, must get my cards sorted as well.

Jo Jo

Jo Jo Report 31 May 2011 20:48

Sylvia, glad to hear that the nurse managed to sort you out, male nurses feel strange for a start but you soon get used to them, I had a male midwife for one of my children.
Good to hear that your packing is going well moving house can be very stressful, so make sure you take care of yourself.
I am trying to finish my cards for the month of June, have 3 70th, 2 40th 2 anniversary and various other birthdays so must get a move on to get them finished.

I see Dawn Bibby has moved to Create and Craft, now that should be interesting.

Hi all,
Well just come up for air after packing, throwing things out etc.etc.
On Sunday I had terrific pain in my stomach and a horrible feeling that it was to do with the catheter I have to wear at the moiment.
Johan couldn't see anything so we phoned the emergency services and the district nurse came and told me that my catheter was blocked and therefore my urine wasn't able to leave me and I had a build up. I had a male nurse which I didn't like having, but when you are in such pain you are pleased somebody is helping you. He rinsed out my bladder and since then it is ok.
I am glad that Johan is still with me or I'd never manage on my own.

I have just sorted out some cards for the birthday girls in June. I see there are two for 10th June and that is my daughter's birthday too.
Now I will try and keep up adding here so until I write again.
Love and best wishes Sylvia xxx :-)
