Hi ladies, I have been asked to pass on a message from Christine in OZ.

She is away on holiday for 8 weeks!!!!! lucky her, I have seen pictures of where she is going and it is just fabulous, but one down fall no shops within miles and miles so you have to take everything you need with you when you go. Anyway the point of the message is to tell you that she has posted any birthday cards that are due between now and the end of July already so if you receive yours very early you will know why and that she has not got terribly confused!!

Sylvia, sounds like things are getting exciting for you, does this mean you will have a garden in your mew place. Your home help sounds like a lovely person and the extra help she will give you will come in very handy. Hope the bladder rinse out so often is working for you and making you feel a little better and letting you eat a little better.
Weather here awful today, soooo windy and heavy rain this afternoon, but the sun is now shining again, but still cold.

Hi all,
Yes, things are really moving now. I have been packing things away and t hrowing things out inbetween having the district nurse come in and give my bladder a rinse out.
My help in the house has offered to work some extra time for me and said she doesn't want to be paid for it, just to help me out. Also her sister wants to do my garden. So many kind people around!
Enjoy the sun everyone.

Morning ladies, (just noticed that it is afternoon!!) hope you are all enjoying your weekend, weather here again sunny but windy today. Just watching all the birds in the garden so many fighting over the food I have put out, the robins, thrushes, blackbirds, blue tits chaffinch and great tits have all fledged and we seem to have lots of starlings that have arrived from somewhere I know they are not nesting in my garden they are so noisy!

Off now to make a 90th birthday card and still have quite a few to make for June, also have an order for 6 quiches to make for tomorrow as a favour for my niece just wish I got paid for doing them!!

Have a lovely weekend all of you

Hugs Joxx

Hi Jo,
We have to move soon, possibly July. I had my help in today and she cleared out a cupboard for me containing vases and plant pot holders. I have only kept a few. She took some for herself and for her sister and the rest will go to the charity shop.
I am pleased I made a lot of cards as my neighbour came today and bought 10 from me.
Have a nice weekend

Sylvia, that all sounds very positive for the move and if it means you can keep more of your things that will be great. When would you have to move by, will it be soon. Don't envy you all the packing, but I always think it is easier than the unpacking!!
Weather has been lovely here today after the rain we had yesterday, but another very cold evening.

Well Jill, your books sound very intriguing (spelling???) would like to see them too.
Well today we went to see the "new" house. It is quite roomy for an old people's living and I felt a little less claustrophobic about the move.
We won't have to discard so much after all.
We had coffee in the canteen and met a Scotswoman working there. She comes from Prestwick. My pedicurist's husband is also Scottish - from Aberdeen.
It has been a beautiful sunny day today and tomorrow it is supposed to be even warmer.
Have a nice evening everybody.

Will have to take a photo and send as cannot put on FB or my blog as they are gifts for the forum girls at the meet up.
They are tiny meander booklets(5inch x5 inch to start with) done with copy paper with Friendly Plastic softened and bits added then stamped for the covers with ribbon ties.
Have made 15 and just doing another 4 to be on the safe side :)

Jill what are the tiny secret books for? Can you send a photo of one to put on my blog? I am sure people would be interested.

Sylvia, lovely to see your photo. I am sure a ground floor flat will be convenient for you especially as it is near all facilities. But poor Johan having to sell his tools.

Good evening to you all.
Sylvia, we are going to live on the Isle of Man; its UK but not really as own laws , tax and money even though UK money is also used :) But need to sell house first so no rush :)
Been making lots of tiny secret books with Friendly Plastic covers, fiddly but very pretty when done.

Fabulous picture Sylvia you haven't changed at all on the photo from when we met, but I am sure you now look completely different with all the weight you have lost. Hope with the nurses coming in so often they sort out the infections you seem to have been plagued with over the last few months.
I am not sure how I would feel about moving house again hated it the last time and we now have lots more things we would need to sort out. Pleased to hear that you are taking all your crafting goodies with you, pity that Johan will need to sell all his precious tools I should imagine that it will be very hard for him.
Love Joxx

:-)
Well here I am again and feeling all chuffed that I have managed to get a photo on line. I did have the wrong photo at first and had to change it quickly
We have been offered what they call a 3-room flat, ground floor with access to all medical facilities, chemist, doctor, etc.etc. We have to go and see the accommodation before we say yes or no. I have moved so many times in my life but now I am older it seems to be more difficult. We will have to get rid of a lot of our things. I am selling some things and giving away things to those I know who would like them. Johan is having a problem selling his tools - his pride and passion. Also all our dictionaries. I have been sorting out my cardmaking equipment and that is definitely going with me.
I have been making a lot of cards this week as I won't have much time when we are actually packing, altering curtains etc.
My photo at the heading of this thread was taken before I lost weight! Janet's partner took the photo when I was not aware of him doing it.
Jill, are you going back to the UK?
I now have the nurse coming in 3 times a week to give my bladder a rinse. The worst thing is having to stay at home and wait for her to come.
Have a nice evening.

Jill I will post on FTF as Issy and Christine both go on there. As you say the small never ending cards are very fiddly, and take lots of work to complete them, but find both the large and small are very popular as people cannot think how you have done them, Not sure how someone who had never seen one would know how to turn it round to see all the different pieces though.

I have just done a small version of the neverending card for a swap and not done a small version before, was so fiddly :)

Is there a special place to post thanks for ATCs?

Morning everyone, lovely to see you on here Jill and I will let Issy know you might be a little late, makes a change for it to be someone other than me!!

Had a card trauma at the weekend, on Sunday I had just finished making a 'never ending' card for my grandson, who is 9 today, had left it on the coffee table for the glue to dry. Later in the day my son came for a visit with his 1 year old daughter, she has just started to walk and she knocked the coffee table and spilt my cup of cold tea all over the card. It was not salvageable so had to start making a second one, I was not as happy with the second one just not quite the same. Made his birthday cake yesterday whilst I was looking after his 3yr old brother with lots of help from him, he really enjoys cooking and of course licking out the bowls but wanted to put sprinkles everywhere!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Jo xx
