Jill in France Report 16 May 2011 10:26

Good morning to you all and hope everyone's keeping well.
Been a funny old past month for me but all seems a lot better now thank goodness. Still have the house up for sale but France is like UK , slow at the moment but we are quite happy to sit it out.
This has all changed on here, must have a play and get either a photo of me on or one of the dogs :)
Received three very different and brilliant ATCs from Isobel, Jo and Christine, many thanks. Might be a day or two late sending this months but should be with Isobel by end of week.
I am off for a long weekend at the Craft Barn in Lingfield the first weekend in June, lots of demo's, anyone from here going?
I am meeting up with the forum girls from cardmaking paradise and we always have lots of laughs and lead each other astray with big spend ups at the shop :)
xx Jill

Sylvia, lovely to see you posting. Hope the nurses treatment sorts out your eating problems, I know what they do is not pleasant, but if it makes you feel a little better and not so sick it will be worth it.
Like you we have had thunder lightening and hail, but in between sunshine, still it was saying on the news today, there is a water shortage in the south east!!!!!

Hallo Sylvia, good to see you. Sorry you are feeling poorly, at least the doctor is doing all he can to help, hope it works.

To add a photo you need to go into your account, near the 'grey head' there should be the word 'change', you click on that and then on files. This will take you to your camera files, find the photo you want in your files and click on it. Don't worry if it doesn't seem to change immediately go back into the general board and it should have changed.

Hi all,
It seems years since I posted on this thread, but time does fly and here I am again.
I love the pictures at the headings of the notes. I must learn how you do this and make my effort!
What a wonderful Spring we are having. A couple of nights ago we had lots of thunder and lightning and I thought it would be the end of the sunshine, but oh no the next day a wonderful blue sky.
We were offered another smaller accommodation yesterday, but it was ground level and I am so scared of being broken into that we said no, but on the other hand we would certainly go and look at the accommodation.
Have been feeling very sick and off food again and a doctor came to visit me today and said he would send a nurse round 3 times a week to rinse out my bladder as he thinks it is the bacteria in my bladder that is making me feel sick.
I will send Johan to the market tomorrow and take it easy at home. I have managed to make a lot of cards this last week.
Now girls enjoy the sunshine and lots of enjoyment

I know what an idiot! was rushing round to make sure I had all the right things for the picnic as both have allergies to different things, and things in case the oldest was travel sick, and the porta potty for the youngest one I forgot the camera, tried using my new phone but by the time I had sorted out how to take photos the animal had moved away, just could not seem to get the zoom to work and the instructions that came with the phone contained nothing on how to use the camera. I can see that I need to have a play around with it.

Hurray it worked finally. I must have been trying to post just as they were changing everything over. There was no general board and every time I posted it said thread did not exist......

Sylvia I hope Johan enjoyed his walk and that he did not get too cold, the wind was bitter the last couple of days. Hope you are keeping well at the moment as well.

Took two of the grandchildren to Woburn Safari park on Tuesday as they did not start back school till today. They are 7 and 3 and we had such a lovely time. The lions walked right up to the car so did the tigers and most of the other animals as there were not too many cars there that day. The children thought it was fantastic, must admit I did not care for the rhino coming so close to us, but you cannot let the little ones know that you are worried!! Had such a lovely day, and ended up going round the car trail 4 times as we had arrived when they opened and left when they closed, such a lovely day.

Hope you are all well

Hi Sylvia, hope Johan got back safely from the walk and was not too cold and your Granddaughter as well of course.

syljo Report 4 May 2011 17:38

Hi all,
Well Johan has just gone out on his walk (in my scootmobile) to celebrate the liberation from the Germans. We celebrate 11 November but here it is 4th May and tomorrow is Liberation Day. It used to be a universal holiday but they are getting away from that a bit now and some shops are open and others not. Always not knowing is difficult.
My granddaughter Linda asked Johan whether she could go with him tonight and do the walk. I thought this rather sweet of her and glad they are just the two of them together which makes a change. The whether is fine albeit a nasty cold wind. I told Johan to put on a pair of long johns as he has to sit outside for the service, but................ he is not a little child and didn't listen so hope he will be ok.
Jill, where are you? You seem to have been so quite of late. Perhaps you are counting sheep!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now to put something in the oven ready for Johan and Linda when they get in.
See y ou tomorrow.

Loved the wedding, so colourful and the dress was beautiful as was Pippa's and what alovely figure she has too. The little bridesmaids were really sweet and the two boys looked really mischievous, bet they had a wonderful time.

Evening Sylvia, glad that everything in the end turned out OK for you yesterday, what would you do without Johan!! Sounds like everyone will be having fun tomorrow for the Queens birthday, so you enjoy your day at home.
As you say Catherine did look so elegant I loved her dress and also the bridesmaids dress. things did not look so formal as they have done before especially them leaving the reception driving himself with no security guard in the car, makes a change.
House sitting at the moment at daughters looking after all her animals, have fed and watered the dogs, cats, hamsters and chickens and also watered the plants in her greenhouse and then had to water her raised beds as the rain that was forecast never appeared, still the sunshine was nice.
Love Joxx

Hi all,
Can you believe it I have been so busy that had no time to write a few lines on this thread!
What wonderful weather we are having it seems a pity to stay in, but then when I come in again I don't want to do anything, and that is the way things have been going on.
Yesterday I had a really rotten day, so nothing was done. I thought I would put a new tap on my catheter before I went back to the urologist, but being the first time doing this I didn't really know everything about it and didn't open the piece where the urine flows away, resulting in horrible burning pain all day. Even the nurse convinced me I was ok and who am I to disagree with her, after all she knows all about these things! Anyway late afternoon I couldn't stand it any longer and asked Johan to have a look at it for me and he discovered the mistake. In no time I was cured.
I was still tired this morning after having such a rotten day so took my time in having a shower and Johan got the breakfast. My hairdresser came at lunchtime and then I ventured out to the market. The sun was out and was quite warm and no wind, which we have of late been having. Now tomorrow is the official queen's birthday with festivities going on everywhere. When I came home this afternoon they were already marking their pitches for tomorrow, with some sleeping overnight on their pitch. They will be selling all their old things, even children are allowed to do this on this one day of the year. Usually the queen's birthday is cold and rainy, but it looks as though tomorrow it is going to be fine. I am not going out tomorrow and will enjoy a day at home. I noticed the tomato and cucumber seeds I planted in tubs on the balcony are now showing through and in my kitchen the parsley seeds are making progress.
Now everybody I did watch a little bit of the royal wedding, but have it taped so will probably watch a bit more tomorrow. Kate really looked nice I think and behaved very naturally. I hope that Harry didn't go too wild this evening.
Now see you all tomorrow.
