Hi all,
Have now got a few b.cards and will let you know the final count after my birthday. Took down Xmas tree and all decorations today, including all Xmas cards to make room for my birthday cards!
My help cleaned the window in our sitting room so we can see out again.
I have baked a cake and also an apple tart ready for tomorrow. Johan popped out this afternoon and bought me a huge bunch of coloured tulips. He's getting really thoughtful in his old age - 86 now!
Bye sylvia xxx

I totally agree Ann, need to do something different this year - but what, love the different shape cards, but really do not like stamping. Think that it is because I have never spent any time trying. Love the sound of the white embossing on black, Jill, have seen it done on C&C but again have never tried doing it. Love my Martha Stewart punches and you can do so much more with them, will be making use of them this year on my cards.

I think I need to be a bit more adventurous. Many different things that I haven't ried. Should be my NY resolution probably.

Jo, double ouch.
Had a relaxing day crafting as needed to get my stocks back up,having a fad with the white embossing powder on black card :) I won a couple of embossing powders on another site and never really bothered with the white before but loving it :)
Sylvia, hope my card arrives in time and have a lovely birthday x

Sylvia, glad to hear that you have received some cards already, I know of at least a couple that will be late due to snow or flu or other illnesses but I am sure they will arrive.
Thumb is healing but still sore, just keep catching it, hubby said I should have gone and had stitches put in it, but I will just keep tight plasters on it and I am sure it will soon heal Looking forward to getting my crafting things back out now all the Christmas things are safely packed away. Was looking at the new cd on Create & Craft called The Wine Buff, thought it looked so useful, might just treat myself!! But then I have seen so much else I would love, but I have far too much already!!

Hi everybody,
Thank you girls for the cards I have received so far. Mind you I had two with Xmas cards and they are still hanging with the Xmas cards and I cannot remember who they are. On Monday my help will come and help me with the tree etc. ready for my birthday on Tuesday. She will have to clean the windows too as well as ironing etc. so will have her work cut out but she likes it here by me.
Will thank these two bgs later - ok?

My granddaughter has had a throat infection but fortunately is a lot better now. She has had a week off work and been resting. She is having an operation on her ear on Wednesday so needs some rest after the throat infection to make her strong enough. My daughter is coming here to take her into hospital and will sleep with her on my birthday and the day of the operation. Then they are going to Eindhoven to my daughter for a few days as Janet still has trouble with her back. What a family!
I have been busy all day in the kitchen making thick pea soup for the freezer. ... and they call this retirement!
Have a nice weekend everybody.
Sylvia xxx Thanks once again for your lovely cards.

Sylvia message from Sheila she is sorry but your card will be late arriving, but will be on its way today.
Well we had snow this morning, then we had rain at lunch time and now at nearly 3pm it is thick fog, just wonder what else we will get today weather wise today!!!!
Well my hire car goes back today as my car should be back from the garage this evening, it has taken them 9 weeks to get the repairs done. Most of the delay was down to the weather and the inability to get parts shipped to them.

Jill hope you are feeling better soon.

Sylvia I hope you get lots of lovely cards from the girls. I posted mine a few days ago so hopefully it will get there for your birthday. I know a few o the members are down with the flu and other things at the moment, but I am sure the cards will all turn up. I was going to say it is lovely to hear that Johan's sister is out of hospital after all the trauma at Christmas, only to be back in there. Well I hope the operation on her ankle goes well, and she makes a full recovery and is soon back on both feet!! and of course your daughter, hope her back gets better very soon, back pain is just awful. We are expecting bad weather again tomorrow with a big drop in temperatures, hope it is not too cold and icy for you to get out.

Take Care everyone

Hi all,
I have a funny feeling that I won't get many birthday cards as I only have two at the moment and my birthday is only a few days away.
Johan's sister who is 87 years of age and was in hospital for Xmas in a coma and not expected to live, was allowed home yesterday. What do you think she did? Yes, fell on the step and broke her ankle in two places so back to hospital for an operation!
My eldest daughter has gone through her back and is lying down all day, when she is not having physiotherapy.
Who wants to come for coffee on my birthday? My granddaughter is also not very well, so it will be very quiet.

Tomorrow I am going to brave the elements and have a look round the market. I haven't been out on my scooter for weeks now.My hairdresser came and gave me a permanent today so I don't have to hurry back home for her and have plenty of time.
Have a nice evening everybody,
love Sylvia xxx

Lovely to see you back Liz.. Like you I need to get back into my research it has been seriously neglected of late. I also received a new FTM 2011, but at the moment I have my tree on Ancestry so might just keep it there.

Love all the ideas that came with the Christmas cards, so many and some that were so easy to do but looked so effective, will definitely be copying!!

Hopefully you will have learned to live without it Liz. Yes there are quite a few new people around but the 'old' ones are still there, maybe just don't come on as much.

Hi Ann,

It's good to be back, and see some familiar names, but on the boards as a whole there are mostly new ones! I am going to have to be careful not to spend ttoo much time on here mind, I know from experience how addictive it can be lol!
