Hi Shaun, and everyone

This was at the top of p.3 :-(

Thanks for your support ...................... I'm not leaving, I was thinking maybe a little sabbatical, but things seem to be calming down. I think maybe something might have been said to the person involved.

I did complain about the pm to GR, I thought it was bullying .............. they didn't agree :-(

I am in a snit though at GR.

They've brought in this new Genes Extra "goodies for members" ............ but only if you are in the UK

and a Subscription members Loyalty Club ............... also only for UK members

I feel that is a slap in the face for all of us overseas members :-( :-(

All the info is on your Home Page.

I don't want the wines, or the books, or even the "prize" of a year's supply of books from Penguin .................... but it's the principle of the thing

One missive has flown across to London from here :-D

It was a lovely day here today ................ about 19C, sunny, with a gentle breeze.

and we are moving rapidly to the longest day of the year. It gets light about 5 am and dark just before 9:30 pm, at the moment.

Take care everyone

Hello Everyone.
Wishing you all a safe and happy week ahead.
Been a real scorcher over my little mountain, spent most of it in the shade or lay down. OH as been doing her crosswords and puzzles and cat napping, that's what Sundays are all about, relaxing and winding down in our book.
So you all take care.

Pleased to hear that you had sunshine today. It was freezing here. Yesterday I got burnt whilst gardening but today it was back to winter clothes :-0 :-0
We went to the garden centre and people were complaining about the cold.

Tec its a real shame when village schools close. There are so many places in Wales where schools have closed then villages loose other facilities as well. Not only Wales of course but other rural areas.
Lovely that your little neighbour is so interested in the garden. My grandchildren also like to help in the garden sowing seeds etc.

Sylvia - Sorry to hear about the pm that you were sent. Please don't stop posting. Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the conference.

Sandie - so sorry to hear that you have been unwell. Hope you will be feeling better soon.

AnnG pleased to hear that you had a good time at Hidcote. It's on my "to visit" list.

Jude hope you are feeling better today.

~~~~~~~~~to Ann Cardiff and Shaun. Hope you've had a good day.
Take care everyone
Hello :-)
Hope everyone is enjoying the warm sunny day. All I've done all day is pull up a few weeds, including some prize winning nettles I found lurking at the back of the border.
Shaun, I was interested in what you say about the seaweed as a fertilizer. I have access to unlimited amounts of it, straight off the beach, but doubt my OH would be impressed with me washing it in the washing machine :-D but I might try composting it.
Sylvia I am also sorry that you received a nasty PM. As AnnC said, you should send a copy to GR - it is against T&Cs, and against the spirit of the boards.
Please don't stop posting, as that will only encourage the troll, who will merely chalk up another one seen off the boards,,to its great satisfaction.
Last evening while watering the garden, I had a visit from a three year old neighbour. He is one of a family of five children that live nearby. He asked to see my garden, and went on to slowly inspect everything, asking lots of questions, about size, colour etc.
I was informed that my Welsh poppies are not poppies, but daisies - that's me told - silly me.
I was then invited to see his garden, where everything was explained, in detail. He was especially proud of "his" strawberry patch, and I was shown the part that forms the strawberry, and told which one I can have when it's ready.
It was good to see such a little one so interested in plants and gardening.
Sadly, that nice little family are moving away in July to Newport, mainly because the village school is closing.
Although this is a great place to raise children, with the beaches, mountains, and freedom to roam in safety, no crime etc, there are no facilities for youngsters as they grow older. No sports or recreational facilities within miles. Now not even a school, although there has been one here since 1845. Sad situation really.
Well I'm late doing dinner, but it's been to hot to bother .
Take care everyone,
Hwyl fawr,
Tec.
S'mae pawb // Hello Everyone:-))))
It's been a lovely day, for those who like it hot, it did not take me long to do the poly-tunnel watering, I can tell you. The hardest job I have done today is to swat bloody midges as I was sat in the wood. OH been busy in the garden and my brother sawed up a load of wood so I was in-charge of bacon butties for tea.
Sandie, lovely to see you post, I had a feeling that you was not your self, that's why a rang to check it was lovely to chat. Just take care:-)))
Sylvia, sorry to read that you had a nasty PM , hope it dose not cause you to leave GR.
But at least you had a lovely time with your friends on your trip:-))
Jude, I was wondering where you were, glad you had a lovely time with your Son and the little ones.I was dressed as a Magic Mushroom at Bethan's dooooooooooooooooooooo:-))))))
Your last post “ Hell shaun” what have I gone and done now.:-((((((((((
Regarding your tummy, please get it checked out, don't wont to alarm you but I have tummy ulcers and the symptoms are quite close to how you are describing yours.
Tec, your like me “ we are not getting any younger” sorry to tell you but it's the other way round , shelf life is creeping on:-)))) The ground elder is a real pest but saying that OH has got reed of a lot.
I have used diluted sea-weed for years on the toms,cucumbers,melons in the poly-tunnel and also on the flowers in the garden. When I was able to drive long distances we would pay a yearly visit in October to a nursery by Llanberis for bagged seaweed , and when we got back home we would chop it all up and put in the compost heap. At one time all the veg was great from using it, wish I could get the seaweed now, you cannot beat it. But you have got to make sure the salt is all washed out of it, that's what this nursery did, they had a big machine where they loaded the seaweed into, just like a huge drum out of a washing machine.
I think the badger's are a little peed off because I cannot get down to there set and give them pea-nuts, so they come up to the house in the hope of finding some.
Bethan, have you got a poorly head, you must have “ a hair of a dog” it works.
Hope you had a lovely time.
Ann-G, your flowers looks lovely, your a lot more forward and we on the mountain.
Sallie, Diane,Hazel,Sue,Von, Yvonne,Ann-C, and anyone not mentioned hope you are all managing the best you can.
That's my lot, finishing off with a joke about Juvenile Swearing.
A 7 year old and a 4 year old are upstairs in their bedroom.
'You know what?' says the 7 year old, 'I think it's about time we started
swearing.'
The 4 year old nods his head in approval, so the 7 year old says, 'When we
go downstairs for breakfast I'm gonna swear first, then you swear after me,
ok?'
'Ok' the 4 year old, agrees with enthusiasm..
The mother walks into the kitchen and asks the 7 year old what he wants for
breakfast.
'Oh, S~i~ mum, I don't know, I suppose I'll have some Coco Pops'
WHACK!! He flew out of his chair, tumbled across the kitchen floor, got up,
and ran upstairs crying his eyes out.
She looked at the 4 year old and asked with a stern voice, ' And what do
YOU want for breakfast, young man?'
'I don't know,' he blubbers, 'but it won't be Bl~~dy Coco Pops'
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Good night everyone.
You all take care.
Shaun ;-) <3
One unexpected event was that I came back to a rather unpleasant pm from someone who has been causing rather a lot of trouble on the site for several months.
If I disappear, and don't post .................... I'll just be taking a bit of a sabbatical.
I was pretty upset last night.
Apparently 3 of us got the same pm ............. but GR won't really do anything to that person.
I'm only posting this so you know why you may not see me.
Hi Shaun, and everyone
Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETHAN
xxxxx
I hope you had a lovely day
We got back late on Thursday from our trip ................... it was a meeting of botanists :-D
It was a very busy few days ............. there were talks from 8am in the morning until 5 or 5:30 pm in the evening. Then social things in the evening.
Monday was an "off" day ............... botanists have to go on "field trips" to look at the local flora.
Lots of our friends form across Canada were there, and we had great fun.
Unfortunately, our car broke down on the way over there on Saturday .................... the clutch gave up as we were on the second, but highest, mountain pass.
We had to be towed into town, and to the Subaru service ............... which was in the Mercedes-Benz dealership :-D
Of course it couldn't be done right away ................ it was about 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
The clutch was changed on Monday, but then they found the car needed a new "slave cylinder" ................ whatever that might be :-S ................. so it wasn't completed until late on Wednesday
But that was OK ................ we didn't need it.
We picked it up on Thursday morning .............. and it was cleaner than it has been for a long time, 'cos they had taken it through the car wash :-D
Of course, it made it a much more expensive time away than we had planned :-(
The bill was over $2100, or around £900
Today (ie, Friday) OH took it into our own service place ............. to have the snow tires taken off, and all weather ones put on. He'd kept the snow tires on just in case we had snow ...................... we were lucky, although there was snow in among the trees right down to road level in a number of places. It only rained on us.
Jude ................... do you think you could be allergic or intolerant to something???
I had a similar sounding problem to you back in 2004/5. They did all kinds of tests .............. which showed darn all!
But they asked me to a) keep a record of all I ate and drank every day, and then b) to remove dairy from my diet for 2 x 2 week trials
That showed that I had an intolerance of dairy ....... when I stopped using dairy, my problem improved by about 50%
Another thing I found with the "record of food intake" was that it was worse if I drank too much water and "clear" liquids, so I have to try to keep that total under about 2 litres.
They couldn't pin down the rest of the problem to anything specific .......... so I got the catchall diagnosis of IBM, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Treatment is ........... nothing!
Just had to learn to live with it!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
One thing I have discovered is that Imodium works with IBM, but has no effect when it is the dairy intolerance causing the problem. I once took 5 Imodium in about 90 minutes with no effect ................. having lost count of what I taking ........... and that of course was more than the 24 hour dosage :-0
Take care everyone
Bethan...l'm sure l said Happy Birthday on Thursday. Hope you had a lovely time:)
Did you recognise Shaun in his fancy dress....hate to think what he wore...lol
Got back from son's about 10pm and was promptly poorly again,....this time l think it was the fact that earlier l had been so hungry l felt sick so ate a cheese sandwich, when dinns came (an indian) l was still so hungry l ate it too fast and it sat on the top of my stomach......:((....feeling loads better now:)
Had a lovely time with the littlies. Eldest had his sports day...brilliant, he won his first race and got a 3rd in the next:)
Tec.....we have laminate in the hall and kitchen, had to get 2 runners in kitchen cause poor old Madoc slips, he does'nt really like it, so that could be a reason why Taffy spends so much time with you, but l bet he just loves being with you anyways :-)
Thanks for good wishes re the house, if we get it we won't be moving again, mind you we did'nt think we would leave here, be quite happy to stay too, but this other one is just gorgeous and NO STAIRS!!
Hope the fireplace does'nt give you any more hassle!!
AnnG....l remember Vic had cleaning done the same way as you, all his teeth are sensative and he can't have them cleaned without injections. Blowed if l'd have root thingying, l'd have it out!!! :-S
Shaun...Did you have a good evening with mates? and good for you getting the plants misted etc, you got more determination than me thats for sure:)...but take it easy?? l smiled when you said about the badgers,, but l know l would be annoyed too, but to have a badger in your garden....wow:).........ouch, ouch, yikes, ok l know they are pest, stop throwing bits of screwed up paper at me....lol
Ok thats it, l am tired now, l can hear Vic snoring from here bless him:))
Take care everyone :-)
