The recent problems have been caused by a migration to new servers. As you can tell, we are still ironing out some of the issues.

I know Island its servers aswell that cause lots of the problems..other sites dont have this ongoing problem but unless they get some big gun techs in who actually know how to fine tune then its a no win for all.....it just seems to run on half power,,,,,,

Thing is Kay, there have been problems on and off for far longer than the current fiasco. This is what I really don't understand especially as so many other (free) websites run smoothly.

Ronald, someone on FB asked if they would be giving refunds but didn't get a yes or no, just 'email spport@ etc......hmmm, isn't that the ad that members were saying either bounced back or no reply?

I get this message when trying to open my tree at home. I don't get it in work.

However, you can get into your tree...go to mini-tree home page, click on a name and it asks you to open tree builder and then you can get into your tree.

Not ideal and there is a lurid colour scheme but at least you can get on with it

as anoying as it is for lots of us,,,,,,we will just have to sit tight and wait till the Techs iron, fiddle and twiddle and tweak the niggles out,,,maybe they should shut shop for a few hours while the sites dormant it maybe easier to get it done....

I'm with IE8 and even as a 'temporary measure' I was left out in the cold.

Changing to IE8 or 9 is not the answer to the ongoing issues. Genes reunited staff have acknowledged this to be the case.

Genes have been suggesting members adjust their settings and/or change browser for years every time there is a problem before finally admitting that they have been doing 'maintenance'.

I've never known this sort of fiasco on any other website. :-(

Well...l now can't get on here without frustrating difficulties using IE either, l have to keep refreshing as someone suggested....grrrr

At last you are taking the problem seriously, after so many of us have been reporting it to a greater or lesser degree for getting on for a week, when they have been able to access the boards.
