Hello everyone hope you are all well, sorry jude i have agree with wend about the beetles, and the best time to pick them off is in the morning when they are a bit dozy cos the are quick little blighters, but they are a lovely coulor jude.and very hardy the first ones i picked i caught them in a jar and left them in the conservatory for hubby the squash, but has he works away most off the time i kept forgetting to ask him and 5 weeks later they were still alive,no air no food no water,so i had to do it myself in the end YUK, apparently they live down under the bulb all winter so when the first leaves appere be on guard, they have now travelled up as far as Cumbria and RHS would like to know if they have got any further..Puss i tried every bug killer but nothing seem to work even killing them and they still devoured all my lillies so last year i outed lillies compost and pots and have just started to plant new ones so i shall be out with rubber gloves and kitchen roll morning and evening this year lol maybe this should have been on the gardening thread,, well goodnight all,,,sheila

Lily beatles are only beautiful when you've picked them off your lovely lilies and stamped on them.

If you can't do that, then there is no hope for your lilies - you decide which is more beautiful . . .

Welcome back Sheila and Kathleen.

Kathleen so sorry that your daughter has had to go all through it again. I do hope that she will change her mind about the chemo but it has to be her decision. We will all keep our fingers crossed that she decides to go for it. You may not know that my daughter had a grade 2 lump just before christmas, found at the first mammogram after she was 50. Her lump was grade 2 and the only lymph node affected was the sentinel so she has not had to have chemo, just 3 weeks of radio therapy. I am hoping that she will stay clear, but sadly your daughter has proved that it can return any time. How old is your daughter? Good luck and lots of positive thoughts for her and for you at this worrying time.
