Afternoon ladies?? I'm in the garden listening to the combine harvester in the top feild and the hens scatching next door. I have been collecting the eggs which are very nice boiled baked and fried??.

I'm cross stitching a project which I thought was a good idea at the time just after Christmas. It's a snowman on a white background, some trees and robins. It's easier to stich outside as the light is better. I will send you a photo when it is done in the next few months/years.

I'm on the devils I phone so will sign off now and return once I'm on the naice old fashioned PC

Yours hunting frantically for the white stich on the white background

Good evening to the Ladies in the Northern Hemisphere, and Good morning to dear Susan in the Southern! How confusing it all is!!!

I am hoping you all had a good weekend. We put off our plans for the weekend, as rain was forecast............................and then it didn't! Tutty tut, I wish they would get their predictions correct. We were going to do lots of outdoor thing, and then postponed them for a week.

As you know the next weekend will be Carnival!!!! So in keeping with the true spirit of harmony and goodwill, there are to be strikes.

I am making the last minute supervision to the wonderful costumes........such colour and music, it will be wonderful, as always. I may even limbo along with the others, should my back hold out.

Cards dear Susan, you either have the knack or not. Cards cannot be learned. I am not at all bad, but do not have a Poker Face, P-P-P-Poker Face as Madame GaGa. Just my little joke dears, but I can face it out with the rest. It is Beatrice we have to keep in check, when she has a good hand, she giggles nervously. That it why I never want her as a partner in Bridge. She also shakes as she puts her cards down, so excitable is she. I think a few Valium thrown her way will be the order of the day next time. She nearly turned the card table over in her haste to put her cards down.

Back to paid toil I suspect for you all tomorrow. While I of course will be supervising in some important capacity in the neighbourhood. Preeens.

Good morning ladies (tis here),

Tis very wet here this morning, OH has taken the pup out for their usual Saturday morning walk... There will two bedraggled creatures arriving home shortly..

I fear Mother Nature is not playing ball at the moment. More quakes in the Wellington/ top of the South Island area. My youngest sister was outside washing windows and had to hang onto the gate to stay upright :-D. They are all ok luckily.. Oh fear, these quakes make one a tad nervous. A friend felt it up here, I didn't. I keep saying I will put together an emergency kit - then promptly forget, until another series of quakes reminds me :-D.

Teresa, I have been as near to Narnia as I dare and found an old favourite to wear to our 'do'... :-(. It shall have to do. The birthday in question was the day after FTY.. Tis confusing at times. I have already had your today and am on to your tomorrow :-). Thank you for his good wishes.

Lesley, I hope you are feeling less sore. Wasps are nasty things aren't they. Our neighbour has a hedge that attracts wasps in droves when in flower, it is quite near my clothes line :-D.. Many many moons ago, I and friends tried to get a bee sting in our lunch break so as not to have to partake in afternoon sports.... Thought we had failed, the bell rang, we ran back to class and pow, I got stung.... I think the lesson was 'be careful what you wish for' ;-). I am just remembering the 'blue bags' my mama had for such things... Don't remember what made them blue or if they even worked but that was the treatment in the 60's...

~~~ to Petunia. So glad your food situation , or lack of, has been remedied. Did you have a fair hand dealt?.. Apart from snap and patience, I am a card novice.. Did you know, one can play patience on a computer ;-). I while many a minute away at work playing patience.. Luckily I have an understanding boss :-S..
I have a very dear friend hoping to visit your fair shores soonish, I shall tell her to look out for you. Perhaps Patrishha could ring the bell on the tuktuk if you happen to see friend and her OH :-). It will be her first visit to London.
I had better get a move on and get packed for our night away, have a lovely weekend Ladies and peeps.
Goooood evening Ladies,
A rubber is a game of Bridge dear Teresa. What did you think it was? An indian rubber for erasing figures when one does their tax returns? That was a Freudian slip dear, ignore me!
My dear friend of yesteryear a Mrs Cartwright, used to make wasp traps with a milk bottle and sugar water. The little blighters crept in, saturated themselves with sugary water, and then could not crawl out because she had put oil around the top of the bottle. One might call the RSPCW now, for cruelty to wasps, and their first cousins, the bee.
Now I THINK you are mistaken dear, about the Chit Chat Café. If it is not the Ritz or the Dorchester, then one does not take afternoon tea! And as for the bad manners, I think you will find that I am the height of good manners, and do not wolf cake, and wash it down with builders tea! Tutty tut.
Just orft for a little light supper, and a game of cards. One does not play for money dears, that would be just too, too common. One plays for favours [that way I have them over a barrel!]
Catching my coat and hat!
Have a lovely weekend Ladies, see you anon.
I saw your double Auntie in the "chit chat" café. She was even dressed like you and shoving down cake and tea like she had not seen a morsel for a long time, dear me she was not a bit lady like not like you are ;-)
I got stung by a Bee many years ago at the local village flower show. It ached like mad for ages, I shall send a wasp trap down the cyber hatch Lesley, a jam jar with jam, water and a way in and no way out :-D :-D :-D That'll teach 'em
#strides onto thread with a great flourish, and sits sedately on the chaise longue#
Goooood evening Ladies. First of all please accept my apologies for my tardiness in my posts of late. It was the hunger that made me doooolally, and I fear I may have embarrassed myself with my rudeness.
Firstly, dear Little Princess of Essex. Happy Birthday dear, I hope Grandmama spoiled you rotten. How soon the time flies, she must be a little cracker! By the by, how are you feeling Lesley dear? Stung by a wasp? I know the little blighters can continually sting, unlike bees. One put their arm onto the window sill in the warmer times, straight onto a wasp, and it continued to sting until I lifted my arm to set it free. My arm was red in quite a few places, the TCP came into its own, I must say. I smelt foul, but it relieved the pain.
Dear Susan, I am sure you will look lovely whatever you we!ar. Why not wear that beaded vintage dress that you showed us. You could then shimmy like your sister Kate! Your doggy is a card! Are you sure it is not moles dear? Have a lovely time dear, should you not get back to us. Happy birthday to your nephew.
Teresa, Happy Birthday to your fruit too. Never, ever suggest what to spend birthday money on dear. A suggestion will send them in the other direction. As for saving it? Not a hope! At least not with the young acquaintances I know!
Thank you for your portion of cake dear, most acceptable!
I am pleased to say we have remedied the food situation. Since coming back from your neck of the woods Teresa, dear Pat-trish-aaaaah has not managed to cook a thing. So we are enjoying[?] ready meals from St Michael. We have had Chinese, indian and Italian food so far. We have never been so well travelled!
I cannot begrudge dear Mrs Berry a jolly holiday, but we are fending for ourselves, and that is not always a good thing. I have had an invitation for tomorrow night, Saturday and Sunday, so my meals are catered for,
The gels and I are having a rubber tomorrow night, and then supper. I shall have to find my green visor again to play in. That Georgianna is a real card sharp! I somehow think the mirror behind us is a bit of an advantage, but we have to sit where she seats us.
Cooper Report 14 Aug 2013 21:15
Happy Birthday to your great Nephew Susan, is it today as in the 14th August? He shares his birthday with FTY who is now a little older :-D
Presents get easier as they get older. FTY was as happy as Larry with the cash he received. He is saving it for I know not what but he really should think about saving for driving lessons in two years time as FTE did.
The sleep over is for two nights. FTYs mate stays in the vacant room of FTE so they all go to sleep quite quickly. I think sleepovers for Female Fruits are a more noisy affair all round. FTE was encouraged to sleep over at friends houses where the Mamas did not do shift work and were grumpy old women :-D :-D :-D :-D
We have been to the favourite roast dinner establishment and are nicely full now. FTY and his fellow fruit are watching the Devils football, England v Scotland and the score is one all at the moment.
Ah 2-1 to Scotland now :-(
I do hope you enjoy your work do. Its always nice to go out and dress up. I'm sure you will find something nice to wear at the back of the wardrobe near Narnia :-D
2-2 now, gosh more goals in one game than all season ;-)
I am minding the chickens for my Neighbour while on holiday. They spend most of the day scratching and digging in a chicken type of way. Maybe its an instinct type of things in animals. They are quite friendly and run up when I feed them or pop in to see if they are ok :-D
I think Auntie may be at Wembley supervising the half time or post match food. The poor dear is desperate for grub and may be able to have a nosh with the players later :-D :-D :-D :-D
Hello Ladies :-),
It does seem an age since we last 'spoke, so to speak :-D...
Petunia, I am sending you some Quickeze down the cyber hatch... just in case you are plagued with indigestion?. If not, save them for a rainy day. I seem to have upset you re the sock comment.. , twas not my intention at all....
Fancy Princess of Essex turning one already, my time flies.. I hope she had a lovely day - and her grandmamma got lots of cuddles ;-) and photographs...
Thanks Teresa for the lovely photo, very smart indeed. Hope FTY enjoyed his birthday dinner?.. I remember my female fruit having sleep overs for her birthday :-D. I am sure they aged me, awful things. Giggly over excited girls.... Oh well, I am sure fruit has fond memories of those days. You are so right in wondering where the years have gorn :-(..
The pup has dug yet another hole in the garden... Fruit and her OH may have to concrete the whole yard to stop the digging ;-).. Pup is very proud of her efforts, Fruit was incandescent with rage yesterday :-S.. All suggestions on how to stop a dog digging will be most welcome...
OH and I are off to the big smoke this weekend to attend a work related function.. I haven't got a thing to wear :-D... I did venture into the one ladies shop here in my tiny town, nothing suitable.. I guess I shall have to rummage through my wardrobe and find something suitable. It is so easy for a male, pants and a shirt. Done !! :-P
Time to knock up a few sarnies for lunch and ready myself to face the world again.
I have great nephew turning six today. I took him shopping on Tuesday to choose his present.. It was easier than I had expected, I did have to explain he could choose one of the two things he liked - not have both.. He was very accepting of the fact. I brought the present home to wrap and he joked about knowing what would be in the parcel ;-). I shall deliver it this afternoon.
Have a pleasant evening
Ah hallo Auntie, I was not sure if you had got the photo. I have a new device!its the power of the I phone so I can now do email etc etc from it. The power of the blueberry was very poor, 'twas an old one and due for the antiques road show. I will ends or to send the photo to Susan and Lesley although I'm not sure if I have Lesley's email. I'm sending down some titbits in a secure box for you to nibble on. Don't forget the password will you? Unless the phantom muncher is also a code breaker all should be well ;) we were at a wedding my dear when the photo I sent was taken, it was on Saturday, a senior service military wedding dear to a lovely gal who is in a similar but not same branch of paid toil as I. #mention no names, just follow the direction of my eyes towards Pat-trish-aaaaah#
The crumbs were delightful dear, and I did manage to run my finger around the rim of the plate to get the last vestige of cream and jam.
Thank you so much for the lovely photo dear. What a pretty young thing you are. One presumes that is your gentleman walker, and youngest fruit. What a handsome pair they are!
I do hope Lesley has a lovely, lovely jolly holiday. Not quite so warm now, but she may be off to warmer climes.
I dropped a boo--boo with the woollen socks for dear Susan, as I forgot her homeland is over-run with sheep! Never mind, it was the thought that matters.
How unfortunate you did not let me know earlier, I could have opened the doors of Motie Towers to you. Are you avoiding me dear?
Mrs Berry deserves a rest with her brood, if you can call it a rest, I believe she is still cooking for them on a Campus stove.
As for us here, I might say I am growing a little tired of corned beef sandwiches!!!!!
I presume Teresa is at paid toil, she works too hard that gel!
Now....................has anyone heard from dear Cherry? I sent her an electronic letter about a week ago, but have had no answer. Please let me know if you have heard from her.
All is back to normal now at Motie Towers, the gels have gawn home, Pat-trish-aaaah is still clomping around in her hob-nail boots, and Mrs Berry has taken her brood off to Broadstairs for their jolly holidays.
Take good care girls, and keep well. I think our missives may be a bit fewer over the next few weeks, as we all depart in different directions.
