It will take me ages to find the examples, Ann. And I feel I have made my point - as Dr Robyn Lewis might say. It happened twice early on. I was told quite rudely that there was another similar thread and I should delete mine.

I assumed that was what usually happened. I have seen others since be told it would be better to delete OP and join in with another thread.

But when I suggest it, the balloon goes up. :-D :-D

please give us an example of a posting you have made which has been criticised as a double posting

BTW, double postings are not a problem on General as I see it - it's on Find ancestors where it's a major problem and can't say I've seen you on there

GG I just picked this thread at random to make a point last night. Only reason it is still on Page 1 is that people keep posting. No intention to embarrass you - purely random to bring this thread forward.

I was just making a point about the total hypocrisy of one or two posters who harangue me for doing same things they praise their friends for.

I nudged it forward simply to make a point.

I have been told off for starting a thread several times that was similar to another thread.

Whne someone did that yesterday, I suggested they simply nudge forward old thread and they refused to do that - and it was quite a good thread from 2 month previously with identical post.

So this was my attempt to show how easy it is to nudge an old post forward. It can be deleted by OP or drop down the pages again.

It was a funny post about male and female drivers, but then so was the same post on October 27th. With quite a few comments.
