Allan,

Hi, I'm glad you have succeeded in sprouting your ginger, well done you :-D
Although I don't have an answer for your conundrum, I just wanted to say G'day, I haven't spoken to you in yonks!

I hope you and OH are well :-)

That would probably be the only way to get my OH pickled! She seldom drinks alcohol.
I make up for it, however :-D

Thanks Tec

We have tried all ways to propagate ginger but without success, so when I saw the programme that showed how it could be done in water I thought I'd give it a go.

It's just taking a long time.

Mind you, I think that the prog. was probably shot in summer, but it did appear to work very well. As we are slowly, very slowly emerging from winter here it is still cold and miserable (in fact we are still having gale force winds and heavy rain. It has been like this for two days now. Today's top temp in the SW is 16C)

Everything is fime with us and we are in the middle of decorating. We are finally throwing out some furniture that we brought out from the UK 30 years ago :-(

I hope tah all is ok with yourself and the Duchess

Regards

Allan
