I've got a little Fox Terrier, and she is an excellent ratter. If you get invaded with Brians relations, you can always borrow her.

jax Report 30 Sep 2012 00:35

What about its family it will be leaving behind :-(

maggiewinchester Report 30 Sep 2012 00:33

Not through the vent though PH - I'm blocking it properly tomorrow (unless I go out).
Love them in the garden.
Years ago, I found a mouse under the washing machine. I caught it and threw it outside to one of my (then) cats, Basil - an excellent mouser..
Basil didn't come in through the cat flap - he 'knocked' on it.
The next morning, he 'knocked' on the flap. I opened the door, only to find him - and the (live) mouse waiting to come in. :-S

I can only presume that years of children's pets, hamsters, rat & guinea pigs, that, because they smelt of us, he wasn't allowed to kill meant that this mouse (who having lived under the washing machine) smelt of us, was considered, by him, as 'one of the family' :-S

PricklyHolly Report 30 Sep 2012 00:13

So will your sloworm Maggie!!! :-D

PricklyHolly Report 30 Sep 2012 00:12

Oooo no, i could never snap trap a likkle mousey.

It's just a shame it's too late to go wandering down to the field.

He will be set free first thing tomorrow.

maggiewinchester Report 30 Sep 2012 00:09

...he'll come back...... :-D

Susan10146857 Report 30 Sep 2012 00:02

For a minute I thought you had snap trapped him and was about to protest vehemently.......poor little mousey...........get him a cage with a wheel....and some biscuits.

PricklyHolly Report 29 Sep 2012 23:57

Yesterday morning when i popped out into the garden, i saw something move quickly out of the corner of my eye.

I have lots of sparrows that live in the garden so i thought it was a sparrow.

As i made my way back to towards the kitchen door, a cheeky little mouse ran past me, sniffed around the bbq and then disappeared in the shrubs.

I fished out 2 mouse traps and loaded them with cheese.........cos i was all out of chocolate.

Checked the traps this morning and nothing.

I bought some chocolate this afternoon and reloaded the traps.

I just popped outside to check before going to bed.........and i can hear the mouse rattling around in the trap. It's too late to pop him down to the field so i have popped him in the garage to keep warm.

At least he's got a lump of chocolate to nibble on through the night!! ;-)
