I ain't a grumpy old woman just an old happy woman...

Some people like rubbing up other people the wrong way..
It's a good job some of us can remember when GR shut the site down for a week back in 2006,Now that was WW3...

Grumpy? Me? Oh Hell yes. I work on it every day. Neighbour here in Spain just dumped about 30 kilos of glass empties in the bin when there's a recycling bin not more than 20 metres along the road. Another visitor parked in the loading bay for two days despite clear signs. Selfishness makes me very grumpy. Hate it.

As i've said, i haven't seen much on here which I find offensive. Au contraire I think if anything some people may be a bit over sensitive.

Maybe the Open University should do a degree in Elderly Disagreeability (Grumpiness)

I shouldn't think you needed to work on being grumpy Malcolm

I posted how I saw some responses on here over the last few days.
By doing that you assume I am a disagreeable pain ridden over sensitive old biddy

That, if you remember was what my post was all about. The fact that some people enjoy being rude and personal.

That's it. TTFN

Barbinglos...I don't remember saying or suggesting you were a "disagreeable pain ridden over sensitive old biddy"

Those are your words. If had meant that, I would have said it and I would NOT have said it because I don't speak to people like that.

i dont believe a lot of post are ment to be impolite , but a lot dose get missed in translation , and some choice of words are wrong . when you speak to some directly face to face, you can see the expression on there face and the hear there tone of there voice to interpret how it was ment.alas you cant do that on here. if you hear the way my wife and i speak to each other for the first time you think we are at war, but we arent. I guess thats the way some relationship on here are interpreted, when people read these boards for the first time. Just some people just need to read there post a few time before posting just to insure that there wont be miss interperted. from time time we will cause offence to someone , so be the first to apologise

Robert You take me back over 30 years to me and my dad. He was politically to the right of Genghis Khan and I was both a Welsh Nationalist (we fought against that in the war) and a socialist (we fought against that too).

We had some rows - and we both loved them and always finsihed as friends after a day or so of cooling off. And mum in the middle fretting that we would never talk again. And I would leave home.

There are a few on here that love a row. Usually the ones who say "I wish it was more peaceful on here" They get all het up, then usually make up and are better friends with their antagonist as a result.

The other points you make are spot on. I am a beggar for sarcasm and spinning obvious tales (like I live in a fairytale castle called Castell Coch and I have a knighthood). I see that as being the fun you can have on these boards - pretending with weird avatars, strange names and strange research interests.

And in real life you can smile, look innocent and wink. And :-) and ;-) isn't the same as real life body and facial expressions.
