If you get the chance to take a peek at the facebook page - its a hoot (not)

If the staff spent as much time getting this site to work as they do posting inane questions and competitions it would not be so annoying!

Hi PP

I've never been on the facebook page, but if it enables photos then that's another thought :-D

Hi Maddie

Sounds like a very good idea!!

But don't see why it should be left up to GR, I am sure there are many members on here who will keep that date in their diaries and have our own thread.

Good thinking to plan ahead :-)

They will probably do that type of thing on their facebook page and then people can also add photos which can be seen.

I do not like the Genes facebook page personally as it often posts some really banal questions. but for this type of subject it is ideal. On here it would just be a list of faceless names.

The 28th July 2014 will mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the WW1. Many GR members will have relatives who died fighting for their country. I wonder if Genes could set up a memorial thread on that date so that we can add their names and remember them.

I only ask now because who knows what can happen between now and then
