There is a friend out there .hya Allan .my GP says to take these for 6weeks & have another blood test .it seems to me if i lost bit more weight that would help . .will make an appointment to see the nurse & get some does & donts to help .not a pill fan .hope you are ok :-D xx Ps Thanks

Hi Barbra.

As you know, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in 1999. Still controlled by diet and exercise.

my Hba1c level varies but averages out at 6.9. On the test certificates it states that medical intervention is required once it reaches 8. This is on my six monthly blood tests.

On my own testing I usually average in the range of 5.2 to 5.8 but sometimes go up to 8.

My own GP is happy with the results and has not yet suggested that i take medication.

Without giving a medical opinion, which I am not qualified to do, I would suggest that you speak to your GP, or diabetes nurse, to discuss your treatment and any alternatives to medication.

Does anyone else take this medication ? or do you know anyone ? I have been border line diabetic for 7yrs no med .now my gp has perscibed these tablets 500mg slow release i have 6.9 reading should be 5.2 .just wondered any info from gr members Thanks Barbra ,, Metabet SR
