After saying not again I have finally thought it through and decided I will. Our adopted springer had to be given sleep in March and although my husband wanted another , I said no. My husband has terminal prostrate cancer and I was thinking of the future and what will happen. I think his dogs are the only things he has ever really loved and I put myself in his position (enjoy what is left). Jerry is 10 years old and was an R.S.P.C.A cruelty case and was tethererd outside on a heavy metal chain. Some relatives of his owners saw him apparently dead in his own excrement and called them in. He was skin and bone and matted up. The R S P C A handed him to springer rescue where they had him vet checked. It was found he had a splenic tumour and he underwent an operation to remove his spleen, the tumour was non malignant fortunately. He has just had his stitches out and is in a foster home at the moment. As I am going away for a week from 9th Dec I suggested he stay there until i come home so we can be all together when he comes.Springer rescue said he must be with another dog and while I'm away Missie will be at my neices. Springer rescue have said that if my oh is taken very ill Jerry can go back to them, over my dead body, once ours always ours, he will be with us for the rest of his life. :-) Elaine. |

Good luck to you Elaine, hope things work out as you hope and Jerry can come to live with you, your o.h. and Missie. I am sure he will repay the love and care you will give him. |
