It is the old man's birthday next Friday and on that day a man from the village is being buried.

I thought we might take the old man up to the church hall and tell him the after funeral spread is his birthday party.

I was once at a funeral wake were the deceased SIL put candles on cake and sung Happy Birthday to her OH .... The deceased partner looked on gobsmacked :-0
