http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Which is the 'source' of all England and Wales certificates. Each one will cost £9.25.

You can also order them from the Register Office where the death was registered. It might be slightly more expensive, but if the death was after 2005/6 and you don't have the gro index reference number, they may be more inclined to help track the correct entry.

Just thought - did the relative die in Ireland?
