Scozz, you can actually alter that message.Ii have done that with a couple of mine recently where people may have been researching some of my grandmother's sibling's.

I've used it as a basic contact, but told the people why I think that we may be related

You've got it right Jacqueline.

I have lots of unopened envelopes..... (they must have left the planet) and wonder about the opened/unswered messages. Why bother joining a genealogy site if you don't answer messages?

I have to admit, I don't bother replying to the "Request to View Your Tree" messages, especially from people that give no information, or access to their tree. I wish GR would get rid of that auto message.

In Essex,Hertfordshire,Cambridgeshire,East and North London and Kent...My lot did'nt travel much

This sounds terribly pathetic. But when you send a message and the envelope is there unopened I presume it means just that. If the envelope disappears and nothing is there does that mean they looked but did nothing. I seem to get a lot of that. :-(
