thinks that for December
"There is some evidence that the settled and cold pattern may hold fast, however this is not strong enough to suggest anything other than that at this stage it looks as if Christmas may be 'green' with rather unsettled and wet and windy conditions extending through all regions, this lasting into the period juts prior to New Year, when it does look highly likely to turn much colder."

We'll just have to wait and see exactly how cold, and for how long.. Afterall, 'they've' managed to get it all wrong before!

I have just read that Chris and it fills me with dread after the cold wet summer we had!

If the forecast is correct they say Dec/Jan will be really cold with temps dropping to -20. :-0

Apparently according to news today we are in for a long hard winter. Can't help thinking of those poor families flooded out at this time of year. Bad anytime.

Plus insurance companies are demanding huge excess sums also very large renewal premiums. Insurance companies are supposed to take risks - what about all the years and many thousands of those who do not lose their homes to flood/fire/landslide?
