This thread is primarily for newbies.

It will be friendly and non-threatening. Bit like going to the swimming pool and staying down the 2'6" end.

No problem if any old bees want to welcome us or want to contribute in a friendly manner.

It will help us to have the confidence to join in the more contentious and censorious chat down the deep end. Aled Jones and pagan festivals are way above most of us new to the boards:-)

Welcome to all newbies, you will see from the length of time that many members have been here ( hover over the blank space under the avatars and it shows up) that this is a site that people stick with :-D

Like life, you won't like everyone you meet, and they may not like you but the vast majority of people are pleasant, many will walk an extra mile with you, and a few will become your friends in real life. FOR life.

Enjoy, be yourself, walk boldly into life's party and say 'Hello, this is me !' ;-)

Thankyou Rose. If I could explain ( i know your modesty forbids), Rose is one of the oldest and most established posters on these threads.

One of the oldest and wisest bees :-D ;-)

Usually swims round the deep end rescuing people from drowning.

Welcome to all the new people on here.

You will probably end up as nutty as the rest of them, (Note::I am excluded being the only sane one on here).

Emma Have my technical team working on my avatar as you speak. You first complained about it in July and we have been working extremely hard to rectify it ever since.

I think it is two elves mooning but I can't work out how to blow up their backsides:-( :-( :-(

On behalf of all newbies, I would like to welcome Island, BC aka Noilly something, and Emma aka Golden something. Are you all newbies? Never seen any of your posts before.

And lilybids is definitely very welcome as has even fewer posts than me to name. Try and do a bit of a doggy paddle first. :-D :-D

Just important for me to get me feet off bottom, as otherwise I am showing too much flesh :-( :-(

Lilybids

Lilybids Report 4 Dec 2012 11:20

Thank-you John for the welcome :-D

JohnLovesHorlicks Report 4 Dec 2012 11:24

lilybids :-D :-D

you are free to almost say anything you want.

There is a short list of banned words, but nobody has sorted out why they are banned. "Custard" and "Syrup" are two on the lists, "Gasoline" in another.

Probably an old bee can add to that list and help you to swerve a bit when you try you first width. :-D ;-)

Allan Report 4 Dec 2012 11:31

John I think that blowing up elves' backsides may be considered a crime: I would rephrase that part of your post before the mystery RR'r steps in :-D

Oh, and welcome to all newbies: I'm the result of a scientific experiment which went wrong :-(

RamblingRose Report 4 Dec 2012 11:33

JohnLovesHorlicks Report 4 Dec 2012 11:36

lilybids :-0 :-0 :-0 Wish you hadn't said that :-( :-( :-(

Allan is the third nicest man on these boards. He kills furry animals for food and his nearest town with a population exceeding 100 is Perth, 450 miles away ;-)

Warm welcome Allan. Just to rub it in, how warm is your welcome in Goolagong Township? :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Dec 2012 11:40

Welcome all newbies, we aren't really very scary on here, we love meeting new people and we'd love for you to put up some threads that we can join in because we do get bored with our own company sometimes. Please try and be open minded and if something gives offence please say so either on the thread or by pressing the posters name and sending a private message. That gives the poster time to take out what has offended instead of if you report the post the poster could get banned. Offence is never intended but everyone is different and we all have different senses of humour.

Enjoy the boards, that is the main thing, and if confused, ask. :-) :-) :-D

Allan

Allan Report 4 Dec 2012 11:41

John, I'd Google again, if I were you.

Bunbury has a population of 30,000 and is 5 kilometres away. Perth is 170 kms north which is just over 100 miles

today was 35.7c.

I do love your attempts at Oz language :-D

What ever happened to comment about vaseline. Has it been removed?

I'm not scared - vaseline, vaseline, vaseline :-| That cannot be on list of banned words fhs

Nobody can object to vase.....................

Am so pleased you have come on here. The accepted definition of an old bee is somebody who has contributed over 3,000 posts on here over a period of at least 4 years. And they must be in the "Reported and Warned" Club.

They are the pros. We are both still virgins :-D :-D But trying to lose our (censored):-(
