Well done Huia!

You have a car and a tv to watch over the Christmas break.

We went to the club for a beer or three, then to the supermarket on the way home (shuts at 9pm)...... groceries in the back of the ute. Ofcourse it rained on the way home!! It was kinda funny watching OH using a stick-shift...... the hill start was a bit scary.

Ah well, it's not the end of the world........ that's on another thread :-D

When I went to collect my ute from the garage 2 days ago ($1002, gulp) I was telling the receptionist of my problems with the TV and she said to try the AV button on the TV 'wand'. I did when I got home, and it worked! At least the garage had lent me a car for the week that they had my ute waiting to fix the clutch. I would have been stuck at home for the whole week otherwise, or had to get a taxi (25 km each way, expensive) or try to find a neighbour who could take me to town/bring me home.

Electric windows ~ that's all I know.

Car is falling apart.

We left home an hour ago, got 50 metres up the road & the car died.

Called the AA....... and the fuel pump has gone toes up.

Car got towed away to repair shop (not the same one that did the window) & we're hoping they have a spare part, or we won't have a car over the Christmas break! Arrrrrrrrrrgh.

Stop Press.......

OH just ''phoned a mate, he's lending us his battered old work ute. Only 2 seats in the ute, so mate is coming here, OH will go with him, then come back for me................geez, I'll need a beer after all this! lol

:-D

I would expect that they would tell you not to use it for the given amount of time.

My car doesn't have a spare tyre, so when I had a flat tyre I needed to buy some jolop to fill it, in the shop they told me that I should drive for 12 miles at 30 MPH which I did, it also said this on the pack.

I agree.

I had a satelite dish installed today and a boxtop to go with it so I can use my new digital TV. It gave a great picture when I turned it on for the news tonight, but I had to turn the sound right up and even with my hearing aids in I had trouble hearing, was just about going cross-eyed sitting right in front of it. I decided to change channels to see if another one had better sound, but I lost all reception, cant get it back. Methinks I will have to read the instruction manuals, otherwise I will have to call the man back.

Took the car to the repair shop this afternoon. Earlier this week, OH was whipper-snipping the edges, hit a rock, which flew towards the car, and smashed a side window.

Window repaired. Looked good. Paid the man.

Got in the car, tested the window (as you do!). Yup, it went down. No, it didn't come back up again.

Got the repair man. He slapped his forehead and exclaimed "You DIDN'T try the window??!! You're supposed to leave it for at least two hours!!"

If he had SAID not to try the window........

Had to wait another half hour, while he took off the inside of the door, messed about, left sweaty finger prints all over the door... but he fixed it.

Who would get something fixed and not test it before leaving the shop?

Window has NOT yet been tested. I'm not brave enough lol
