just to clear things up my dads name is Michael Antony Holt born Portsmouth Hampshire 1958/1959 his first wife was my mother Bernadette Hanson not sure what year they divorced as my dad was in the army and my mother couldn't look after me i ended up growing up with my grandparents thinking they was my natural parents till my grandmother passed away. anyway im aware that my dad married after that to a Christine A McManus in lancashire in 1987 and the lady had 5 children but not sure if my dad had children himself with her so been trying to track bits down as i met my dad just over 5 years ago we had 3 years together but sadly he passed away from cancer i did ask him questions about it but think he was to either shy or worried that if he did i would end up not talking to him because he wasn't there as i was a child maybe he wanted to protect me from it i don't know but i do know he was a little bit of a ladys man so the chances of my dad having other children is quite high so its just me putting feelers out. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS

There is a marriage in Lancashire in 1971 for a Mr. McManus to a Christine A.

It gives two possible surnames for her, so you would definitely need the marriage certificate for your dad to see what maiden name she gives.

If the lady had children, it would suggest that McManus is her surname from a previous marriage

I get the feeling you don't have the marriage cert. That's the only way to get her maiden name. The McManus surname could be from her previous marriage.
