When I was just a little Pod my dad knew all about money. He worked in socks and shares.
(It was his stocking trade so as to speak).

Toeby :-)

I think your ideal would be independance for Pontypandy & you could be King John with 1,231 subjects & your pet Druid...should be enough money to keep you going? Not a whole Country!

Oooh our Rose got it in one :-D :-D :-D

Plus with the necessary rise in corporation tax, please don't ask me to explain that with the ratio of business running profitably in England as opposed to Wales :-(

Plus how many countries do you have to pay to enter via the main vehicle route? Errrrr hang on! ...............................................................*still thinking, I may be a while*

Plus you would have to fly into England and then travel by rail or road to get here, as Cardiff airport isn't really 'International'

According to Google, there is a Pontypandy. However most of the google references are to it being Fireman Sam's home village

John, sorry but it's been mentioned before - do your homework before you post.
Admiral's Nett profit for H1 of 2012 was £171m (and you can deduct from that the £9.75m given to employees in shares).
Swansea City's £58m 'benefits the City', and the immediate surrounds, not the country.
NHS annual requirement in Wales in relation only to obesity and alcohol misuse is £140m.

What about everything else? Bit of a shortfall isn't there? Not going to make that up catching crabs in the Conway river, trips up Snowdon or sailing around various (lovely) islands.....

There's no heavy industry, no economically viable mineral mining/processing .. ai .. sheesh... :-S
