Have just been told that Lily Vears who was in her 90,s has passed away.

Lily was the daughter of my OH grandads bro and was born in Ireland of the Carey family of Kilarney.

She lost her OH some years ago and was in a Nursing home in Surrey near to where her daughter lives and was visited every day/.

Her daughter naturally is devastated But Lily had gone past wanting to be here, She was a devout Catholic and would say Why is GOD keeping me here cos I am done,

She is now at peace and her Lord has called her home to be with her hubby and family

RIP Lily a lovely lady

My nan is 98 and has been in a nursing home for a yr now,she can no longer walk and hardly eats, shes also lost interest in watching her beloved football on tv,she is visited everyday by members of the family and my family and my mum and dad visit every other month((we live in wales and nans in cambridge) nans just waiting to go,and all she talks about is her two hubby""s (1ST ONE DIED IN 1952 AND THE SECOND IN 1988,and her daughter who died in 1981) ITS SO PAINFUL seeing her like this, but i understand that shes weary and old now. :-(

Well Lilly bless her was finally laid to rest this morning some 5 weeks after she passed away.

She lived in Horley Surrey but lived originally in Kidbrooke in SE London and attended her local Catholic Church there. She was taken back to the area to be buried with her hubby in Greenwich Cemetery . Was talking to her daughter last evening because OH decided he wasn't up to the walking so we had to say we wouldn't be there to see her off, daughter was telling me it took so long because she had to be transferred to the area and then they had to wait cos Greenwich Council only have 2 grave diggers for FIVE municipal cemeteries and they only attend the cemetery she is now in on a Tuesday & Thursday.

To me thats rubbing salt in the wounds to get families to wait so long to bid their loved one goodbye.

Lilly was 98 so had a good life but had really bad health the last year and was ready to meet her maker and family again , She really believed that she would be with them We hope she is now at peace. <3 <3 <3
