Joy you bad housekeepr......

:-D :-D,

I dont plan meals as I find I dont stick to it,,,,,,,,,may think about having something for Thursday and then change my mind or it doesnt go to plan,,,,,always have enough in freezer to go with the flow.

I waste food I'll admit, only because what I had today I wont want again tomorrow as a left over hash..

I have never been a throwaway....think it's all from my young years in the war..don't take too much notice of sell by dates as long as its not years old,but if cooked well,no harm will come.Left overs...what about bread and butter pudding...delicious..
There is a way to use up most things with a bit of imagination
Made lovely home made wine with black bananas...recipe called for them!
If fruit isn't getting used up..stew and freeze.

I do tend to forget stuff in the freezer or get it out of sinc so end up throwing some of it.

I don't throw much food away at all, I'm always cooking and freeze loads, so if we were cut off through bad weather we could last a month on what's in the freezer :-D

I bet nobody throws away chocolate biscuits and all things bad for you, but so yummy :-D

Most of my wastage comes from the freezer. I have three of them, so tend to forget what's in there until they are defrosted and find much is freezerburned
. The old one is going soon, so I might improve my ways.
As for what's in the fridge, well, I'm Queen of the leftovers! I'll make a meal from the most unlikely scraps. It's amazing what you can put into rice and pasta dishes!

The trouble is, no matter what the use by date is, I find that fruit veg and all perishables go off long before that date, which means binning the food and buying more :-(

I never go shopping alone, always take OH with me.

He does the cooking and ensures we only buy what we need.

One way to combat waste is to do a list and plan meals for the week and stick to it.

We waste little or no food, thanks to OH being 'so bloody organised'!!
