Thanks, detective, the 303 doesn't look too bad. My husband has found a similar ap for his ipad, shows roads real time. I think the problem is going to be for them to actually get on to the main road. Think the A39 and A359 are fairly clogged up.

Snow that is falling here is still much wetter, very small flakes and doesn't seem to be getting any deeper.

Daughter has just sent photos of one year old grand daughter out in it for the first time, biggest grin on her little face. Ahhhh. xxxxxxxxx M

Sadly in Herefordshire they gave up snow ploughs on local farmers tractors over 10 years. The main A roads are snowploughed and gritted, but the side roads can be terrible.

On the local country roads if the snow doesn't melt we are stuck with ice and snow for ages. Never mind clearing pavements, we have had to clear the deep snow in between the four wheel drive tracks before now!

Weather is really bad here in Merthyr Tydfil. A470 and A465 are trecherous.

The maps are terribly slow to load, probably as the site has heavy demand. Once you've found where you want, click on the camera icon on the right of the page.

If they are working, it links you to a live feed from traffic cam

The sun is out here, seen photos of villages near the house in deep snow and for once I'm glad to be at the coast.

Snow plough just come up road and cleared centre of about 10" of snow and salted road - so just about passable now.

And I have done my civic duty and kept the footpaths and pavement outside my house clear and have salted them. So both pavement and road are much safer for cars and pedestrians and less chance of ice forming below the snow this evening when temp drops.

just walked t the shop to get the papers - it's coming down much thicker and faster than before

why oh why do people clear the snow - it's so much easier to walk on snow than walk on cleared patches as they have become icy now - and how often do we hear that people have had heart attacks whilst clearing away snow - leave it alone!!!!!

Lots of snow here in Shropshire, many schools closed and the buses have just been taken off. Cars skating everywhere apparently, despite the best efforts of the gritters...the local council are doing a sterling job on their FB page keeping people informed :-D

Most schools closed here in Flintshire.....snowing quite heavily and a strong wind as well making conditions a bit scary!

Gas fire on and a bacon butty in hand....all set for a lazy afternoon! Stay safe everyone. :-)

Surrey / Hants border, nothing at 5am a little at 7.am when I looked out and it started up again soon after that. We now have about two or three inches but has recently become very fine and much wetter.

Local schools closed at 11am although parents were told they didn't have to take children in at all if they didn't want to.

Next doors dogs are running round and round their garden, jumping in the air trying to catch the snow. A couple of dappy Springers.

Looks like the family plans for tomorrow are off, can't get hold of eldest son on Exmoor, youngest, in London hasn't had much yet and none is settling.

Anyone know what the A303 is like at the moment ? M

At the moment we have just flurries of snow, but
the wind is getting up.
Hope you all keep safe and warm and doesn't last
for too long, here in the North East Scotland we
expect it this evening and tomorrow.

At 5am, I looked out of the window, and it was icy - no snow.
At 7am the snow was falling fast - and still is!!
I'm not going out - I saw the ice that's underneath it :-|

Ann. Have been thinking of you this morning. Now you go steady out the window. passers by might think you are on red alert :-D

4 g.daughters been notified by their bosses not to go in. One was walking it and was halfway there about 4 miles when phoned to go back.

Doesn't look like we will get it tomorrow again as was first forecast.

No busses running just when I was gonna go to W.S.Mare for a walk along the front

Stay warm everyone :-D

well it's here - big time, but have seen it much bigger :-D

looks to be about 6" deep and still coming down - nothing moving, tho I see my next door neighbour has gone to work as his van has gone - hope he comes back soon or he may get stuck somewhere

my cat is totally miffed - in and out - no idea what to do

no Sky - will have to get a broom out and see if I can knock the snow off the dish [from the bedroom window]!!

my new neighbours [Indians] have been in India for six weeks and came home last night - I have been picking up their post for them - bet they're a bit shocked - and cold

Just started with fine drops Kent south of the M25 near the Thames crossing.

If it were rain, you'd say it was drizzling. We aren't expecting more than 5cm, so shouldn't cause any disruption, but then there are always those people who have never driven/are confident in driving in snow before!

Gwyn. Not only a gloat but a goad :-D :-D ;-)

To be fair, we have had very mild and snow-free weather till about 6 hours ago. And we did have a red warning plastered all over the valleys last night :-)

Not had our Australian or Spanish friends saying how dreadfully hot it is yet. But am sure we can all sympathise. :-D
