Agreed, Jean and Dermot.

Apart from the Aus company sending Kangaroo meat to the Americans as steak here are two other Aus stories from about three decades ago.

Some migrants were killing Phillip Island mutton birds to eat.

(Avert your eyes, dog-lovers.)
A migrant in the Springvale area was softening up a dog for the barbecue when an Australian guy hopped the fence to stop the cruelty.

Lord knows what we eat when we're out but it's understandable that, if you're truly starving, anything is food.

The starving child in Africa cannot understand why we are so worried about eating horseburgers.

I don't buy supermarket sausages (surprise packages), I get them from the local butcher who makes his own (and has won lots of medals).

Pasties, burgers, pies etc ~ I make my own, I want to know what's in them. Hopefully the meat I buy is what's claimed on the label. I don't buy fish "fingers" either!

Many years ago, a truck load of meat went to the PAL dogfood factory in Victoria (Australia)........ they rejected it. The meat didn't go to waste, it was bought by a well-known meat pie company! Yummy pies, enriched with marrowbone jelly :-D

horse meat, cat meat, dog meat...god knows what we are eating these days. the cheapest meat tesco and others could put into there range would be rat meat. a rat burger would be cheap to make, with a bit of added fox to the finest range. a ratfox burger sounds good to me.....

Just got a batch of 200 T-SCO burgers cheap? only cost me a pony - they're low in fat, but high in Shergar.? Personally I think they are an ideal mane course and are a stable part of my diet - I tend to eat them on the hoof, although they sometimes give me the trots; so I often say neigh.? Te-co share price trading down, but not furlong. :-D

I am on the mail list of "Coopers of Stortford".

Had a mailshot this evening. Subject:-
How to check what’s in your burger!?

Selling a Healthy Home-made Burger Maker

Now that is what I call "Quick off the mark".

It’s up to each individual as to what they choose to eat. The fact is, they should ‘know’ what they are eating

I’m glad I am a strict vegetarian!

I bought 3 Welsh lamb chops last week. They cost £9. I could have run one over on Rhigos and paid nothing. What a riculous price, especially when you hear auction prices.

I know I am a bit dull, but I have always thought there was something a bit strange about paying £3 for a small chop and £1 for a load of frozen lanb burgers. Carmarthenshire lamb (oen) is called Oen Shir Gar. And now we know why ;-)

Joy and Joy. You gave me double joy as I read through. Really funny :-D :-D

Tesco could be in real trouble selling horse meat as normal beefburgers. However early trading on the stock exchange this morning revealed that their shares are stable.............
;-) (sorry) :-D
