Now that Woollies are no longer around where on earth can you buy this stuff.

I have pyjamas which need new waistband, I need 1/2" elastic, can I find it online?

NO

Why should I throw away a perfectly good pair of jimjam bottoms just because I cannot replace the elastic!!!!!

:-D

Sue - I live in South London and hate markets with a vengeance (Sorry!)

But am also limited with how far I can walk, so I needs to be somewhere I can park near or buy online.

But SiL shops regularly in Wilkinsons so may even ask her to have a quick look for me next time she goes.

Many thanks again.

Not just knicker elastic.

Woolies was the place to go for shoe dye, fabric dye,bra extenders, pick and mix sweets, kitchen utensils, Christmas lights, batteries, loose biscuits, slab cake, roasted peanuts and cashews,Saturday jobs.

Ladybird children's vests and pants, they lasted ages.

We loved Woollies for their pick & mix .They seemed to have sweets we couldnt find elsewhere & their Winter mixture s were great especially loved the mauve striped ones and the brown stripy one too.

They did really lovely liquorice rolls and sherbert dib dabs

Mouth watering just at the thought , But at least the waist line isnt getting bigger on phantom sweets.

I agree...I was finding the same ...and guess where I found a stand of haberdashery.....Age concern charity shop...couldn't believe it.
They must have been asked for things like that which don't seem to be available anymore.

Cynthias was the place to go for us.

It was thr shop down the village where you could buy everything apart from food and drink.

Rolls of lino, wellies, sanitary towels and belts, stockings, including some especially long ones she knew where to buy, buttons, wool put buy so you could buy an ounce when you could afford it,There were tin baths and darning wool and Cynthia. She was really what you went there for because she was,and still is,lovely.

There was a store, called Wellworths, based on Woolworths, in Dorchester. It's now expanded and changed it's name to Wellchester.
