I will be absent for a few days, you can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Returned the the house this afternoon and we have suffered storm damage. Window shutter torn off from wall, water came through roof (fortunately not too much damage) and the ceramic tiles which are set along the top of the recessed window in the front porch detached and smashed on the floor.

Dont't seem to have any roof tiles smashed on the ground so hoping it's slippage due to the heavy snow fall and then high winds.

Bloody choked when we arrived, usually I walk into the house and relax totally well not today I didn't.

So phoned insurers and we have to get a quote and phone through the costs of repair. I assume they are swamped with claims due to the awful weather.

So if you thought I was grumpy before that's nothing to my mood now!

Oh Sue - that's awful. Can you see the roof from across the road - just to be sure. If you're going to slam the insurance company, you may as well make the most of it. They're bound to have an 'rider' where they won't pay the first 'X' amount

No Maggie we need the roofer up to check everything. Have no idea what the excess is, I know it's zero on contents but can't remember what I negotiated on buildings and the policy is back at the apartment.
