Jay alias Jerry the new rescue dog we have suprised me again yesterday. Coming out of the park I was waiting for him to come to have his lead on and as he came towards me I noticed he was carrying something in his mouth. It turned out to be a collard dove. This time he declined to hand it to me but placed it very carefully on the ground then touched it lightly with his nose on its head. Its wings moved and I realised it was alive. On closer inspection it seems to have hit the pylon wires and the blood on it was quite dry. At home I bathed the blooded areas and found that they were superficial cuts. It is now residing in a box until it is fit for release in about a week I should think. Thank goodness Jay found it and not another less gentle dog or a cat. :-D

Von, I thoroughly enjoyed the programme and whats more OH watched it too. Now he may believe what I have been telling him. Jay is supposed to be his dog but the dog will not stay with him. Now, OH has incureable cancer so I wonder if what the lady said about her dog not wanting to be near her when she had cancer rings true for him? We think we are the clever species, I doubt it ;-)
