Not sure whether I would have liked the actuality of the 18th century as much as today to be honest, Mau.

Quite violent times. John Wesley was preaching in Walsall outside St Matthews and local Anglican supporters tried to kill him. Only because he was very fit and only 5'3" and slight build that he managed to escape with his life.

On the other hand, canals would have been exciting. Coalbrookdale, so many inventions. :-)
